STUDENT RECORD POLICY
Consistent with the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act of 1974, the Western Orthodox Theological Institute (WOTI) has enacted policies, which protect the privacy of students.
WOTI provides students, and those sponsoring bishops of the students, access to certain official records directly related to the student and an opportunity for a hearing or to challenge such records on the grounds that they are inaccurate, misleading or otherwise inappropriate. Any institution, or person who desires to obtain information about a student, outside of the sponsoring bishop (if any), must obtain the written consent, permission from the student before WOTI will release such. Only the student can present that written permission. We will not accept via another institution or person.
Students, who for any reason, are released or dismissed from Sacred Studies by a sponsoring Bishop or Religious Superior; are not ipso facto dismissed from WOTI if the student maintains all prerequisites of WOTI. Bishops are not authorized to remove students from WOTI without the student’s explicit written consent, and such written consent must come directly from the student.
