PURPOSE OF THE SEMINARY
The Western Orthodox Theological Institute (WOTI) is a "University Without Walls" to meet the needs of those who desire educational training in various fields of Christian life, Faith and Belief. The history of WOTI, and its formative years, is explained further by a letter in this Catalog.
The Western Orthodox Theological Institute (WOTI) is the official seminary of the Church. WOTI is the chief source of candidates for ordination as priests, deacons and deaconesses in the church, which also provides for laymen, laywomen, and other candidates to study for ordination in some other affiliated churches with whom the we are in communion and/or union.
The purpose of the Seminary is for educating suitable persons to become ordained for Christian ministry. This education also prepares persons for other fields of Christian service and leadership in creative Christian thought. One of WOTI's goals is to train men and women in charismatic studies which will prepare them for such service in an Orthodox-Catholic manner. These purposes of the seminary are carried out through the courses and life of seminarian's manner of life through the providing of opportunities for:
