Notice to Students
of the
Western Orthodox Theological Institute (WOTI)
Operated by the:
Under the Jurisdiction of the:
and His Eminence:
The Most Reverend +Joseph Thaddeus, OSB, SSJt., Ph.D.
During the month of July 2007, the Western Orthodox Theological Institute (WOTI) will begin its less sophisticated on-line study program...
For many of you, it will relieve the persistent problems with mail from us to you, and from you to us. That doesn't mean that we will stop with mailing through regular mail the lessons and tests. The On-Line studies will begin sometime in July 2007 which will first be a test of how well this approach is received as we are not working with any of the rather expensive software programs which many colleges and seminaries are using today.
For new students, we must ask at this time that you review (print out and study) the following material and then let us know when you have the information. Once we have received your notice that you did receive it, we shall send to you by e-mail the location for your questionnaire and/or testing material with instructions.
Because some of our students are oversees in the military, with others being in Pakistan and Nigeria, we are asking that each of you take care to inform us as soon as possible about any problems you encounter with this new method verses the regular mailing of lessons, etc. This means you should keep a log that you can send us from time to time.
Keep a written (on computer or by hand that you can send us an e-mail about) ... a record of any and every problem you encounter during this process. Some unforeseeable problems that you might encounter may have more to do with your Internet Service Provider or inability to open an attachment, or inability to cut and paste the location of lessons on our servers. There could be other problems too. But as we are made aware of what those problems are, we can then direct our attention to each one and hopefully fix it or resolve the problem through what is called a 'Work Around'...
Now... for you who are new, beginning the curriculum in July, the following is required material.

Study of history begins with a basic primer...
Study of World events begin with U.S. Civics & the Constitution-101A
Study of Spiritual pursuits begin with understanding the historical acts of Jesus Christ
Please thoroughly study each of those areas. The "Study of World events which begins with U.S. Civics & the Constitution-101A may not seem important to you who live outside the U.S.A., but believe me, it will aide you in understanding some of the things that should be of concern in your country. This also will aide you in strengthening one's mental abilities such as theory, applied cognitive skills, etc. Thus it was felt by the board of governors that the course should be included for everyone.
Students will be provided lessons from and are very much encouraged to study all the material at the following web page:
