"There are those, over the year or two that the "Quotes from Thaddeus" have been up, who take issue because they feel that a monk, be he Bishop, Metropolitan or Archbishop, or priest, should say little to nothing but let silence be the teacher.  If this was a perfect world, that might be the best approach. 

In prayer, a group of us who are Orthodox Benedictine (OSB) and Thaddean Fathers (SSJt.) from mainline and non-mainline Orthodox jurisdictions have sought answers to questions and find that His Eminence's "Quotes" page is become necessary especially for those who are not strugglers on the path of "Orthodox Catholic Christianity".  Many who say that he should say nothing are more involved with self-interests and 'politics'. 

Some of us are not even associated with the Jurisdiction under His Eminence but belong to a large prayer group across the North American Continent.  We have unanimously agreed that much that could be posted by His Eminence, has not been posted, even such as we have suggested because we find that he is less imbued with 'politics' and being a Metropolitan Archbishop as he is with prayer and being a spiritual father to many of us who have called on him for guidance.  Thank you!"

Greetings & Blessing from the Desert Southwest...

•    Now that the scariest and actually perverted ALL SOULS EVE (Halloween) is past (or supposed to be)... we have been asked if Halloween is "Christian".  To be honest, "No!" Celebrating the Feast for departed souls is "Christian" only to the extent that it be celebrated as a "Feast" with prayers and Divine Liturgy.  There are numerous articles concerning "Halloween" that are on-line concerning the error and perversion of this annual event; the 'why' and 'how' the manner with which it is being celebrated by parents and children... as not only pagan, but sets the evil tone and temper of not being Christian... See: 10-18-2008 The Halloween Deception!  which is only one article of many regarding the anti-Christianization on-going by participating in this un-holy deception!

•    Statutes are beautiful and it is seemingly innocent enough to honor a patron saint or other Holy One by placing a statute in one's garden or on the porch to denote one's affection for the life that the image may represent.  However, all too often the statue is one of Satan's way to attempt to get someone to worship him in subtle ways.  Remember the numerous news items about "weeping Madonna statutes" and cow statute's giving off some fluid or blood dripping, etc.?  In Orthodoxy, it is forbidden to have a statute in the church.  Icons are images (drawings) of the blessed one... thus the Icon represents is allowed for use in the church, the home and other places for calling to mind the attributes of a sainted one in hopes that we will make our own life (Mind, Heart, Soul = through daily prayer and action by our thoughts, words and deeds) more holy and pleasing to God. 

•    Swearing is one of the first steps toward a downfall.  Unless we grip our tongue through mental and spiritual effort, we fall into a habit that is hard to break.  Often, children and young adults like to appear Up-With-the-Times or being "Machismo" - - - and therein lies the fault and progress into tendencies that further damages our soul, leading us further away from the path in this life we should be on through controlling our daily thoughts, words and actions.  By daily prayer (at least in the morning and evening); if we concentrate our whole being on our praying, on the calling to our mind what the prayer is really about and what we are saying, we strengthen our resolve to do better so that when our time arrives to cross over to the next life... we shall be more acceptable! All of this starts first in ones home life...

    I have been asked permission to re-establish the "Quotes" for this page because of the questions piling up and needing responses... Thus, on approving this endeavor I do so with a bit of skepticism as to the value and worth of it because of what we are witnessing on the national and worldly stage of life and living that besmirches the very root, ground and base of all things CHRISTIAN by many who make the claim they are CHRISTIAN (as followers of Jesus Christ)... for indeed, on watching them, they have moved away from most, if not all, those things that were once faithfully lived and breathed daily as a part of the faith in both spirit and truth!

Q:      In response to an article....  Why did you post a Commentary or Opinion that is spiteful, hateful a blight on Christianity  which is disturbing to many people including my family about the Pentecostal Church and other Protestant churches? (Cal, Bob, Ron, Don, Jerry and many others have recently submitted questions of near similarity since the posting of October 14, 2008)...

A:    (Sorry for the lengthiness of this answer but you want 'understanding') Now that the fall has begun and for others it would seem they are haveing earlier than usual winter months, we are bundling up with more clothing to keep the kids and ourselves warm.  Even with the environmental changes taking place through out the world with worsening storms, tornadoes and hurricanes, to name a few disasters, one can only wonder when the environment will become more kind and considerate.  Lest we forget, the environment is in God's Hands... It is just one of His ways that tell the story about His reaction to warn us about our worldly ways in this life. 

    Science can tell you all about the "why" of the environment in most instances.  He controls even that which we call "Science".  Hmmm! you think!  Yes.  God is in charge as He always has been and always will be.  Science is of man's invention, finding the ways in which God works, to some extent... for man's science is far from perfect!  With environmental changes having become erratic over these last several decades, one can only wonder what is going on, as with the polar caps melting down as the example.

    Then we have the election race for who is to be the next President of the United States of America.  As it moves forward, we also have the recent events of great proportion having to do with the economic picture here in the USA that has finally reached around the globe to affect practically ever country on earth!

    It is not impossible but so tedious a task to trace events that could prove the beginning time in which God's Hand of Love, compassion, understanding and Protection has been slowly lifting away from this great nation in which we reside (USA). Yes! God is slowly withdrawing His hand of Protection from US because we have allowed ourselves to be beguiled and mesmerized by Satanic forces that have invaded every aspect of life and living, both civil and religious!  The attitudes and actions of every man, woman and child is the root and base case for what is going on.  One of those actions is that of one's religious beliefs and worshipping ways!  Yes!  It has a great bearing on the question too.  Take a very strong and hard look at all the incidents or what is called national (or international) "Police actions" by our military in "conflicts" through out the globe since world War II... We have lost them!  We won WWII. But since then, we've lost! Why?  And your response will be the casual and usual political response about strategy and timing of our involvements in them.  That is a man-made response!  What does God have to say? 

    What have you been warned about in Holy Scripture and by the root, ground and base of all things CHRISTIAN which Jesus Christ established in that which is known and called "Orthodox" and "Orthodox Catholic" which are such as those called the "Greek Orthodox Church," "Russian Orthodox Church," "Ukrainian Orthodox Church," the "American Orthodox Church" and many others?

    Many of you have said something like, "We don't need institutionalized religion to tell us what to do!" or something similar!  Some of you are slighted because you belong to those many Protestant Cultic groups who call themselves "Churches" as though they are truly a part of the ground, root and base of Christianity.

    Your lives and living habits bespeak by your actions what is going on.  And since the USA is predominantly controlled in local, county, state and national civil offices of government, even at the highest level of the land being the President of the United States of America; it behooves you to know both spiritual and material truth. 

    The Commentary to the article should be rather explainable.  However, because our government leaders have been involved in allowing those students in school, college and universities to be "dumbed down" - it is no wonder that government controls you and not you controlling the government!  For the very things said in the Commentary about the "WHY" and "WHAT FOR".... is a very true part of the cause for what is happening both locally, county wide, state wide, nationally and around the globe.

    Most of you have been so "dumbed down" as adults even... that a good majority of you do not know that even the national news media will not even attempt to tell the whole truth about your leaders and those seeking election.  Even the two major candidates for public office to sit as President of the United States of America are not telling the truth on many issues, even themselves.... Are you so pathetically ignorant that you do not know what some of the things are that have been going on regarding the actions of Obama and the Democratic National Committee?  And, what is more, do you not know what happens if a President gets into office and is later found to not be a natural born U.S. Citizen?  Why is Obama even allowing for the DNC to fight against the Federal Lawsuit (out of Pennsylvania's Federal District Court)?  It is not just politics but the very heart of the faith of being true CHRISTIAN strugglers in both spirit and truth that is at stake!

    The prophecies of of the apocalypse and the Book of Revelation is becoming more and more evident and we have entered those times in which the END TIMES have been predicted concerning this world of ours.  Even the now Sainted +John Maximovitch of Shanghai & San Francisco (the Wonderworker) had predicted that what Russia had come out of, the United States was going to become.  His meaning did not necessarily imply a take over by Russia or any other communist nation so much as the attitude of SOCIETY as a whole in the USA which is the driving force, or lack of it, as to this nation's government and as to this country's manner or understanding both spiritual and material truth which has been so alarmingly lacking!

    If this does not answer the question posed... then something is seriously wrong with one's ability to hold to a rational pattern of thinking and understanding!  It would go to prove that one has indeed been seriously affected by Government forces which have "dumbed down" this society through churches, schools and universities... And you may be one of them too!

    One last and important understanding you need to know.... This jurisdiction and our unworthy repentant self are not against people but against the errant cultic theologies which produce and cause the kind of actions and thinking that has been and is on-going in these present times which have led people into such entertainments and styles or modes of activities and thinking that has become so abhorrent to the faith established by Jesus Christ which your forefathers of times past held more closely to, of which we are a part of as those who are true to the faith. 

    Individuals, by themselves, as persons may be the most holiest of individuals you could ever meet.  However, the theology they believe in and hold to points to what kind of God they worship even when they call themselves "Christian" which is in many instances pointed out, the ANTI-CHRIST! 

    We are about Jesus Christ, His Life and Teachings... and those that have come down to us through time and history which were inspired by the Holy Ghost (Spirit).. including the ancient Seven Ecumenical Councils that even the Roman Jurisdiction of the Catholic Church (and those copy-cat "independent" so-called "catholic" organizations or churches) have departed from holding fast to while claiming a false and errant supremacy over all others while opening its arms to cultic groups of whom we have spoken about and named, along with their heretical bags and baggage.  Such is the actions of the Evil One, Satan, Lucifer (the greatest deceiver man-kind could ever know)...

God the +Father, +Son, +Holy Spirit will not be mocked!  His punishments are just and sure!  And His punishments are not just on individuals alone... but also on nations and even, if necessary as time has proven, on the world itself which was and is prophesied....
