The Lord's Prayer – The OUR FATHER
Jesus Christ spoke Hebrew and Aramaic (often an Aramacized Hebrew dialect, according to some sources)…. Because of the manner with which many today are seriously affected by learning disabilities and other health issues; we have found that the Lord’s Prayer, as presented on the right (Aramaic in style) is more understandable to those people, even though lengthy in itself it makes the Lord’s Prayer on the left more clear. Yet, as a result of the seriousness of what is on-going in our environment and environmental effects upon the world’s population; the Prayer on the right has more meaning, substance and sustenance for the soul.
The
Lord did not say WE MUST pray in exactly the manner the Holy Bible shows,
but “…IN LIKE MANNER…” and that is the key for
understanding our Lord’s Prayer.
The Lord’s Prayer as presented on the right (Aramacized)
is what is used by the Thaddean Fathers (Society and Holy Order of St. Jude
Thaddeus & Friends) in private and in community.
ALL: [Standard payer] [Aramaic Prayer]
Our Father, Our Father,
Who is in Heaven You Who are in Heaven
hallowed be your Name, Let Your Name be hallowed,
Thy Kingdom come, Let Your Kingdom come,
Thy Will be done.... Let Your Will be done,
On Earth, as it is in Heaven, Here on Earth as it is in Heaven,
Give us this day, We thank you for this day,
and our daily bread, and our spiritual and material daily bread,
And forgive us our Trespasses We entreat thee to forgive us our offenses or transgressions
as we forgive those who trespassed as we forgive those who offended and transgressed against us,
against us. be they of the past or present, the living or the reposed, whether known or unknown, be they for right or wrong, real or imagined..
Have mercy on them, on us and my unworthy self. .
Bind those who would do evil against us whether we know them or not.
Lead us not into temptation, Help us O'Lord not to be led into temptation.
But deliver us from evil, Deliver us from the Evil One,
For thine is the Kingdom, For Yours is the Kingdom,
the Power, and the Glory, the Power and the Glory,
Forever and ever, now and Forever,
+Amen! Unto Ages of Age
+Amen!
+Amen!
+Amen!
Where the “+” is shown, it is where the Sign of the Cross is made upon ones self which is a sign of sealing off Evil …. The Sign of the Cross is made with the Thumb and the two index fingers (representing the Holy Trinity)….
Beginning from
1) Forehead [“In the Name of the Father”], then
2) the pit of the stomach right around where one’s belly button is located (just below the belly button area) [“and of the Son”] to,
3) right shoulder [“and of the Holy Spirit”] and then the
4) left shoulder [“Amen”]. The Left Shoulder is the closest to the heart, sealing off evil from entering in.
In the above - the “+Amen!” - - - one does not make the sign of the Cross three times but only once with the “Amen” being said three times which equates to the Triple action of the Holy Trinity…
Super Mumbo Jumbo? No! An action that causes the mind, when repeated, to remember the many things of the saving presence of our Triune God. This action is so very important… Often this action is done with a half-bow!
All actions of making the sign of the cross, half-bows, low bows and more causes for the mind and the heart to struggle out of pain of heart.
Actions bespeak of the importance of the mind to center everything that passes through it on the saving presence of Jesus Christ. Action brings the mind and heart closer… it is piety in action when coupled with thought. And it is the two (body and mind) when done with sincerity of purpose that causes for prayer to go up to God.
Followed by meditation and contemplation… we do, unknowingly or not, receive from God through Holy Ghost (Spirit), those things necessary for our individual selves … But again, in order to keep the Evil One from entering in - - - action, thought, prayer, mediation, remorse for our sins and repentance are all very necessary!
These things must be done daily – a.m. – noon – evening. For monks and nuns these things and more are done every two to three hours a day until we go to sleep. However, not all monks and nuns can do them because of their work schedules. Thus, they are done at least once in the a.m. and again in the p.m. prior to laying down for repose.
Repetition is a mighty thing that aids in quelling the average persons hectic mind… Bringing the brain (the mind) under control so that one may find a degree of peace from the daily perplexities and stresses of daily life; in slow degrees but eventually, becomes very perceptible over time.

Special Information and articles
A Very Special Message (Originally posted October 8, 2007) still holds true for you today!
"Never, never, never let anyone tell you that, in order to be Orthodox, you must also be eastern. The West was Orthodox for a thousand years, and her venerable liturgy is far older than any of her heresies."
- Blessed St. John Maximovitch of Shanghai and San Francisco
So, as said, Daily News is very important to the true Orthodox Catholic Christian.

In anticipation of future events and activities in this New Year of 2010... we are disconnecting many of the links to the old news and the archives. We are going to create a new archive having to do only with religious news that we consider important. Each Month's DAILY NEWS will contain both religious and secular, but will also be culled at the end of each month to save only religious news for archiving... This will obviously take time to accomplish for those article in past years and cause some problems along the way with some links not working... But we do ask for your patience in our endeavors.
