Orthodox Benedictine Rite – Monastic Form
PROSKOMIDE:
OFFERING OF THE BREAD
Like a sheep He was led to the slaughter and as a lamb before the Shearer, He opened not his mouth; in humiliation His judgment was taken away; His generation who shall declare? In the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
MINGLING OF THE WATER AND THE WINE
One of the soldiers pierced His side with a
Spear and straightaway there came forth blood and water welling forth the salvation of the world.
PRAYER OF PROSTHESIS (Profound Bow)
O Lord our God, who did offer yourself for the life of the world, look down upon us and upon this bread and upon this chalice and make this to become your pure body and precious blood unto the communion of souls and bodies, for hallowed and glorified is your most honorable and majestic Name.
PRAYER OF THE INCENSE:
Holy God, dwelling in unapproachable light:
O Master, with your accustomed love for mankind overlook our many sins and as you were pleased to accept the incense of Zacharias, thus also from the hands of sinners graciously receive this incense as a savor of spiritual fragrance and act mercifully toward us.
Hallowed and glorified is your most honorable and majestic name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit now and forever unto ages of ages.
O Master, Lord our God, who has granted that I your humble and unworthy servant serve as Priest at your holy Altar, cleanse my soul of all stain of sin and make me worthy by the power and indwelling of your Holy Spirit to offer sacrifice at your holy Altar and to glorify
and praise your thrice holy Name so that I may enter your Sanctuary with a pure conscience and be granted to complete this Divine Service
in a way that is pleasing to you. In your mercy, accept this incense at your Altar in Heaven as a sweet spiritual fragrance.
You are my sanctification and illumination and to you, Father, Son and Holy Spirit do I send up praise and thanksgiving, adoration and reparation.
THE PRIEST COVERS THE GIFTS WITH THE PALL SAYING:
Your strength, power and mercy have covered the heavens, O Christ. The earth is full of your praise. The Lord is King let the heathen rage. He sits upon the Cherubim let the earth be shaken.
Bless, O Lord our God, this offering and grant us your servants a pure heart and a pure mind so we may be found worthy to draw near and touch your most pure body and precious blood. Grant that we may stand before you on the dread day of judgment without condemnation.
In your mercy, grant us remission of our sins and deliver us from the temporal and spiritual consequences of our sins in time and in eternity. In your mercy, grant we may receive life eternal in heaven by the merits of Jesus Christ your Son, our Lord who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God world without end. Amen.
(Priest inclining in low tone)
May I, your unworthy Priest, glorify you and give you praise in my every thought, word and deed. By your will and favor I have a unique sharing in the Priesthood of your Divine Son.
May I always be the kind of Priest (and Bishop) you want me to be and the people need me to be to the praise and glory of your majestic Name, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

DEACON OR PRIEST
Bow your heads unto the Lord.
O Master, Creator of life and giver of all good things, who gives to mankind the blessed hope of eternal life, our Lord Jesus Christ, grant us O Good One to complete this Divine Liturgy unto our sanctification and unto the enjoyment of that bliss which is to come.
LITURGY OF THE FAITHFUL
PRIEST
Let us who mystically represent
The Cherubim and who sing the thrice holy hymn unto the life-creating Trinity, now lay aside all earthly attachments and cares that we may raise on high the King of all, invisibly
served and worshiped by the ranks of Angels. Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia.
PRIEST PRAYS FOR HIMSELF
No one who is bound by carnal lusts and sensual pleasures is worthy to approach or to draw near to you or serve you O King of glory. To serve you is a thing great and fearful even to the heavenly Powers.
Because of your unutterable and immeasurable love for mankind, you became man without change or alteration and did become our High Priest. You did deliver to us the Priestly ministry of this unbloody Sacrifice for you are the Master of all. You alone, O Lord our God, rule over those in heaven and those upon the earth, are borne upon the throne of the Cherubim, are Lord of the Seraphim and King over Israel. You alone are holy and rest in the Saints. I now implore you who are good and listen to look upon me your sinful and unprofitable servant and cleanse my soul and heart of all wicked and vain thoughts and by the might of your Holy Spirit enable me
who am clothed with the grace and dignity of the Priesthood to stand before your holy Altar in a fitting manner and to perform the Sacred Mystery of your holy and pure body and precious blood in a manner that is pleasing to you. To you I come with a bowed neck and I pray you turn not away from me neither cast me out from among your worthy Priests.
You are the one who offers and you are the one that is offered; Who receives and is received. I, by your grace and your will and favor stand as an other Christ at the Altar of Sacrifice and in your name consecrate bread and wine into your body and blood in a real manner and not in a symbolic manner. The bread becomes your real body. The wine becomes your real blood through the Priestly ministry you have given me through your Church. O Christ my God, for the gift of the Priesthood I return thanks and praise to you and to your beginningless Father
and your most holy, good and life-creating Spirit now and forever unto ages of ages.
Amen.
LAVABO
I will wash my hands among the innocent and will take my place with those at your Altar O Lord, hearing the voice of your praise.
PRIEST MAKES THREE REVERENCES
May the power of the Holy Spirit come upon me and the power of the Almighty over shadow me. (Priest repeats three times)
PRIEST
I believe in one God the Father the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth and of all things visible and invisible and in one Lord Jesus Christ the only begotten Son of God and begotten of the Father before all ages. Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten not made consubstantial with the Father, by whom all things were made, who for us men and for our salvation came down from heaven and became incarnate by the Holy Spirit of the Virgin Mary and was made man. He was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate, suffered, died and was buried. And the third day He rose again According to the Scriptures and ascended into heaven seated at the right hand of the Father and He is to come again with glory to judge both the living and the dead, and whose kingdom will have no end and in the Holy Spirit, the Lord the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father who together with the Father and the Son is worshipped and glorified, who spoke through the Prophets. And in one, holy, catholic and apostolic church. I confess one baptism for the remission of sins and I expect the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come. Amen.
PRIEST
Hallow, O Lord, this Sacrifice brought as an offering to you and be pleased to accept it from us through Jesus Christ your son.

It is meet and just
PRIEST
It is truly meet and just, needful and availing for our salvation that we should always and in all places send up thanks to you, O Holy Lord, Father and ruler of all, almighty and everlasting God through our Lord Jesus Christ through whom Angles praise your majesty and
Dominions bow down in worship, the Powers tremble, the heavens and the heavenly Virtues, and the blessed Seraphim together worship you in exaltation with whom we pray you also to accept our voices saying in prayerful confession;
Holy, Holy, Holy Lord God of Hosts. Heaven and earth are full of your glory. Hosanna in the Highest. Blessed is He who comes in the Name of the Lord, Hosanna in the Highest.
PRIEST
United with our own Guardian Angel and all the Angels and Saints we too cry out and say: holy are you. All holy are you and your only begotten Son and your Hoy Spirit.
We beseech you, Almighty God, command these gifts be carried by our holy guardian Angel to your Altar on high in the sight of your Divine Majesty that as many as receive the Body and Blood of your Son at this Altar may be filled with every spiritual and temporal blessing through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Holy are you and all holy and magnificent
is your glory; who so loved the world as to give your only begotten Son, that every one who believes in Him shall not perish but may have eternal life.
We do not presume to come to this your table, O merciful Lord, trusting in our own righteousness, but in your manifold and great mercies. We are not worthy so much as to gather up the crumbs under your table. But you are the same Lord, whose property is always to have mercy.
Grant us therefore, gracious Lord, so to eat the flesh of your dear Son Jesus Christ, and to drink his blood, that our sinful bodies may be made clean by his body, and our souls washed through His most precious blood and that we may evermore dwell in him and He in us.
PRIEST HAS HANDS OPEN OVER THE GIFTS
Humbly we pray you, O God, be pleased to make this same offering wholly blessed +,
To consecrate + it and approve + it, making it reasonable and acceptable so that it may become for us the Body + and Blood + of your dearly beloved Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ.
CONSECRATION / ANAMNESIS / EPICLESIS
When He had come and fulfilled all that was appointed Him to do for our sake, on the night on which He was delivered up, or rather delivered Himself up for the life of the world, taking bread in his holy, spotless
And blameless hands, giving thanks blessed it, broke it and said
TAKE AND EAT OF THIS ALL OF YOU FOR THIS IS MY BODY. (Trisagion/Partial Prostration)
In like manner, after he had eaten, took the chalice and said
DRINK OF THIS ALL OF YOU, THIS IS MY BLOOD OF THE NEW AND EVERLASTING COVENANT WHICH SHALL BE SHED FOR YOU AND FOR MANY THAT SINS MAY BE FORGIVEN. (Trisagion/Partial Prostration)
AS OFTEN AS YOU SHALL DO THIS, DO THIS IN MEMORY OF ME.
Remembering, therefore, this precept of salvation and everything that was done for our sake, the Cross, the tomb, the resurrection on the third day, the ascension into heaven, the enthronement at the right hand, the second and glorious coming; we offer you your own, from what is your own, for all and on behalf of all.
Moreover, we offer you this spiritual and unbloody worship, and we ask and pray and entreat: send down your Holy Spirit upon us and upon these gifts here offered and make this bread + the precious body of your Christ and that which is in this Chalice + the precious blood of your Christ, changing them by the working of your Holy Spirit.
ANTHEM
(People respond with the triple Alleluia after the Anthem)
TONE 1. Though the stone had been sealed by the Jews and the soldiers were watching over the grave, you did rise from the dead on the third day and gave life to the world, O Savior. Wherefore all the Angelic Powers cried to you: Glory to your Resurrection, O Christ; glory to your Kingdom; glory to your dispensation, O Merciful Lord. Alleluia !
TONE 2. When unto death you had come down,
O Life Immortal, you did strike down Hades with the flash of your divinity; and when you had raised up all the dead from the nethermost abyss, O Lord, the heavenly hosts in triumph shouted: O Life-giver, O Lord Christ our God, glory to you. Alleluia !
TONE 3. Let the heavenly hosts rejoice, let all men be glad on earth, for the Lord revealed His glory, He raised up His powerful arm, He struck down death by His death, He rose as the first born of all the dead, He delivered us from the bonds of Hades, and gave us salvation and mercy. Alleluia !
TONE 4. When the women disciples of the Lord had heard from the Angel the joyous message of the Resurrection, they cast away their ancestral sentence and proudly announced to the Apostles: Death has been despoiled, Christ our God is risen and has granted to the world His great mercy. Alleluia !
TONE 5. Let all believers praise and worship the Word, co-eternal with the Father and the Holy Spirit, born of a Virgin for our salvation, for He condescended to be nailed upon the Cross in the flesh, and to suffer death for us, and to raise the dead by His glorious Resurrection. Alleluia !
TONE 6. The Angelic Hosts appeared before your tomb and the watching soldiers dropped like dead men, while Mary was looking for your sacred remains. You had entered Hades triumphantly; You greeted the Virgin joyously, and you granted life to the world. O Lord, who are risen from the dead, glory to you. Alleluia !
TONE 7. You abolished death by your death on the Cross; You opened Paradise to the repentant sinner; You turned the grief of the Myrrh-bearers into joy; and you commanded your Apostles to proclaim that you, O Christ our God, have risen and granted to the world your great mercy. Alleluia !
TONE 8. You descended from heaven, O merciful Lord; You endured a three day burial; You delivered us from sinful passions. O Lord, our Life and Resurrection, glory to you.

PRIEST (Inclining and in low tone)
I give you thanks and praise, O Holy Trinity,
I am a Priest (and Bishop) and permitted to consecrate bread and wine into the body and blood of Jesus Christ. May you be pleased with the sacrifice I have offered in propitiation for my sins, the sins of all here gathered and for the sins of the world. May you be pleased with this our offering for the praise and glory of your name, for our good and the good of all your Church.
(Aloud)
God of miracles, wonders and signs, we give you thanks and praise for the Miracle of the
Eucharist we have shared, the wonder of your creation and the sign of your love for us revealed in and through the Incarnation.
We give you thanks and praise for the miracle of the Ordained Priesthood through which your Apostles continue among us and through which
your holy people receive the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of your Divine Son consubstantial with the element of bread, the work of human hands, and the element of wine, the fruit of the vine. Through the consecrated hands of your Ordained Priest your Christ is physically and spiritually among us in a manner no less real than when He walked among us in the flesh. For this, and all your blessings, we give you thanks and praise through Jesus Christ your Son, the only Mediator between God and man, who is our true High Priest and in whose Priesthood the ordained Priest has a unique sharing.
We give you thanks and praise for the Priesthood of Believers through which all your holy people also have a sharing in the Priesthood of your Divine Son, in a manner different than the Ordained Priest but still no less real. Through the Priesthood of Believers your people use their unique gifts and talents
to establish your Kingdom on earth and
proclaim to the world that JESUS CHRIST IS LORD TO THE GLORY OF GOD THE FATHER.
We give you thanks and praise for the many miracles, wonders and signs experienced in our own lives and for those miracles, wonders and signs we know by faith we shall receive in the future from your bounty through Christ our Lord. We give you thanks and praise for our faith in you, in your Divine Son and in your Holy Spirit for without faith we cannot receive the fullness you have prepared for us from before the world began.
We give you thanks and praise for our desire to know, love and serve you which is in itself your gift to us. May we be counted among your elect in time and in eternity through Christ our Lord who alone is the Arbiter and Dispenser of all your gifts which come to mankind.
PEOPLE
Amen.
PRIEST (Facing the people who are kneeling)
May almighty God bless you, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
The Divine Liturgy is ended. Go in peace to love and serve the Lord by loving and serving each other. Pray for me, your spiritual Father and a humble Monk as I am a repentant sinner and worker in the vineyard of Christ. I will pray for you that together in our community
God may be glorified.

of us needs information that will enlarge , or - at least, enhance our spiritual
understandings.
We must entrust our soul into the hands of God
the +Father, the +Son, and the +Holy Spirit who, as one God (the Holy Trinity)
is the source of all life and abundance for us who are still in this earthly
vessel. He knows our strengths (and our weaknesses) for he gave us
strength... It is our failings and sins that make us weak in spirit! If He
were to give us one dollar in conformity to our strength, we should not seek
five, so as not to grow faint under the weight of having too much, so that the
gift which is intended to serve to the good would not serve to the our great
condemnation. We must flee from our sinful falls not to reclusion, not to
the desert, but to self reproach, to confession of our sins - to repentance! Our
perplexity, our reasonings and our will - we must plunge them into the abyss of
the munificence and Providence of God!

article below entitled "The
purpose for presenting our Daily News section"
Sadly to say, we
take no pleasure in stating that some of the items we post are not from what we
would call true "Christian" organizations. But we post it because it provides
another side of the proverbial story.
The Church,
after all, is
supposed to be a temple
for sick souls (sinners) without distinction
between their worse sins or otherwise, but it seems to some organizations that
they say much about others, but fail and refuse to upbraid themselves and their
members for their own sins...)
"Never,
never, never let anyone tell you that, in order to be Orthodox, you must also be
eastern. The West was Orthodox for a thousand years, and her venerable liturgy
is far older than any of her heresies."
- Blessed St. John
Maximovitch of Shanghai and San Francisco
The purpose for presenting this Daily News section:
Daily News is very important to those who are true Orthodox Catholic Christians.
For without knowing or gaining information for understanding about what is
happening in one's local area and around the world, you could find
yourself faced with denied services in the secular area, lack of income, even
(although it sounds far-fetched) ability to worship openly for the time is not
far off when all will have to decide if they wish to follow the Anti-Christ
through the One World Church and One World Government as prophesied by the
Apocalypse, the Book of Revelation of St. John or follow the faith delivered
once and for all which will cause for many to be denied the abilities to survive
under those kind of conditions, causing for one to consider other options.
Many of those who subscribe to, and some who have caused or are the cause for,
these things to happen are involved in or with the Roman Jurisdiction of the
Catholic Church (which is not the seat of all things "Catholic") as well as its
protestant daughters such as the cultic Jehovah's Witnesses, the Pentecostal
Churches, the Church of Latter Day Saints also known as the Mormon Church and
far too many more to list.
Yet, at this web site we do provide some of the reasons about why they are
opined to be the harbingers of that which is prophesied in Holy Scripture for
the bringing about of the End Times which we have already entered. It is
not necessarily their individual members or parishioners that should be blamed
since they are only the "Sheep" and not the Shepherds... So do not think we
castigate individual people of themselves as we castigate those "money changers"
who Jesus Christ chased out of His Father's House as the Bible Describes; for
they exist in these present times too.
Events are already rushing toward
that time in which this is beginning to happen and will become more fully
wide-spread. In these present times all you need to really do is look around
both your local and larger areas as to what is really on-going through.
Things so very little or miniscule that they are barely noticeable except to the
more informed observer may become apparent.
Those
little things are the laws of the land, economics, politics, the degrading and
erosion of those rights and liberties afforded by the Constitution of these
United States of America and many other things such as the manner with which
entertainments have taken over much of the populace, entering into and becoming
a major focus in worship, and more. We ask you,
if you don't want to believe us... Have you heard, seen or found what is termed
(of the many terms being used) that there are "holding areas" or "camps" or
"Closed/Fenced communities" being built by GOVERNMENT? Here in
North America, especially in the United States of America, we must admit that
what Russia has come out of (a communistic, atheist country) we are entering
into. And one last thing that needs also to be understood... Something
very important to those of you who are "Catholic" in the Roman sense of its
jurisdiction.... And, we believe this also holds true for many who
are "Orthodox" whether "Eastern" or "Western"....

Remember: You cannot ride two horses or serve two masters for one of them will be harmed by your thoughts, your very words and your actions which is to blaspheme the Holy Ghost (Spirit) who will depart from you. And when the Holy Spirit departs, the great deceiver (unbeknownst to you) will rush in to fill the void under disguise of being the Holy Spirit! Testing of the Holy Spirit to insure it is the Holy Spirit does not, for many a Sectarian Protestant and Roman, work because the Great Deceiver (Satan) is most skilled in worming and snaking his charms around your mind and heart to feign being the Holy Spirit. Remember, Satan has the same gifts similar to the Holy Spirit but Satan's gifts are UN-HOLY and lead all who accept him (unbeknownst to you) to perdition.

Also See: Missionary Conversations with Protestant Sectarians The lives of monks consist of a podvig [(spiritual struggle) exploit] of repentance and of withdrawal from the world. They flee from judging their neighbor in his moral falls, considering themselves to be sinners and the worst of all men. But, when it is demanded of monks and other clergy, that they remain humble and indifferent to questions of faith, then do they cast off humility and obedience. It is demanded of them, by the conscience of the Church, the faith in and for the Life and Teachings of Jesus Christ that They rise up when the truth of Orthodoxy is threatened. They are supported in this by a living conscience and by a sense of responsibility for that faith for which our forebears-martyrs and confessors alike-sacrificed everything, even their very lives. As a result we have opted to present to you the story about "Modern Day Ecumenism and its horrors" along with various links to who just a few of these Synchrestic Ecumenists are who threaten the root and branch of Christianity as exists in true Orthodox Catholic Christianity (Both Orthodox and Roman)!

The following articles and information do not necessarily reflect the attitude or beliefs of this jurisdiction or those who are with us in spirit and truth!
"I understand the idea of sodomy and homosexuality, but to say that homosexuality is not a sin is incorrect and not just in my mind but all of Orthodoxy and again, not just in Orthodoxy but all of Catholicism and again, not simply all of Catholicism but all of Christianity with the exception of those who have this in their personal life as sin or are very close to someone who does. Celibacy or Married Life is the ultimate ideal. For both Homosexuality and Heterosexuality are truly sinful if... and below is the hard part of this understanding..." (Ed. Note: We have never said "homosexuality is not a sin or okay... however, there are those who, being homosexual, are that way for a variety of reasons. Jesus Christ talked of these kinds as referring to Eunuchs. The conversion tactics employed by many other groups, bespeaks of a "politics" that is not wholly honest either spiritually or even materially. For, in their endeavors they have failed to show forth the truth that one is driven into a "closet" style of life. It is better, we believe, to become wholly celibate, be it a homosexual or even heterosexual... and to learn what "celibacy" really means and requires).
If a man looks on a woman who is not his wife with lust, he has sinned. If he and she are married to other people he has committed adultery. If a man looks at a man with lust he has sinned the same as a man who looks at a woman. Sodomy does not have to enter into it, lust for someone is a sin by itself and must be removed. But people do this all day long to be sure but it is still a sin. To say that homosexuality and heterosexuality are not a sin due to their lusting, allows both heterosexuals and homosexuals to live in sin without repentance and this is wrong to do to them spiritually.
It is for the sake of their own soul that one has to recognize sin that is in them and not to excuse it regardless of the sin or the preference of the sinner. Sodomy is indeed a sin regardless of what any one may tell you, the act of attraction or the lust is a sin even without action and simply must be repented of by both heterosexuals and homosexuals. I must also add this; woe to all who misguide others into sin and especially those who are of the clergy who do this. For the sake of your own soul and others, you must recognize this and repent. I know that it is not easy to overcome and if it is never overcome then one must live a life of constant repentance, that is the only choice.
