The Demise of Marriage

And  Dissolution of the Family

Very Rev. Fr. +Gregori, SSJt.- Abbot, Cor-Bishop

Before I get into discussing why marriages are declining, let me first tell you what marriage is according to the Orthodox Catholic Church’s belief and teachings.

The Orthodox Church holds and teaches that marriage is forever. Marriage is the act of God uniting one man and one women into one flesh in much the same way that the Church is joined to Christ (Ephesians 5:31, 32). Therefore, marriage is much more than the mere exchange of vows or the signing of a legal contract between the bride and groom. A successful marriage does not come about as the result of promises made to each other by the bride and groom, but on the promises and blessing of our Heavenly Father. It is for this reason that in the Orthodox marriage rite, the couple offers their lives to Christ and to each other and are literally crowned as martyrs.

The theology of Orthodoxy has always held Christian marriage to be something absolutely unique and truly eternal. Married life is a unique vocation which requires the grace of the Holy Spirit; and it is this very grace which is conferred in the Marriage Service. According to John Meyendorff, in marriage, human love "is being projected into the Kingdom of God"

The deep love that each of the partners has for the other, is the motivating factor in Christian marriage. Thus, marriage is for the expression and the sustaining of this mutual love of one for the other and then to extend this love to others through the procreation of children. Even though God commanded Adam and Eve to be fruitful and multiply, we must always remember that children are a special gift from God and not the sole reason for marriage. It is true children do contribute to making marriages an authentic image of the  Holy Trinity. Speaking of the family, St. John Chrysostom referred to the family as being "a little Church".

The Marriage Rite (ceremony) of the Orthodox Church has been divided into two parts. These are the office of betrothal and the office of crowning. The office of  betrothal includes the exchange of rings, which demonstrates that both partners enter into marriage of their own “free will”. At the office of crowning, "crowns" are placed upon the heads of the partners to signify the grace of the Holy Spirit. These are crowns of both joy and martyrdom. Since the couple has been united for eternity, there is joy; but because every marriage involves enormous self-sacrifice on the part of each partner, they become "martyrs" in their own right.

There will always be the possibility of error since marriage implies a decision of free will on the part of both partners. In the case of a failed marriage, the Orthodox Church declares that a true marriage had in fact never existed, i.e., the bond did not demonstrate its necessarily eternal character. However, it is not correct to assume that the Orthodox Church grants divorces. Divorce is actually a civil matter which recognizes the breaking of a legal contract; the Church can merely recognize that an attempt at building up a true marriage has failed. The Orthodox Church today normally allows the laity three attempts at establishing a true marriage, but a fourth marriage is positively and absolutely forbidden. On the other hand, clergy are permitted to marry only once and this must be prior to ordination. Finally, let me make a comment on the penitential character assigned to a marriage rite in which one or both partners are being married for the second or third time. A special service is used for these situations in which the prayers are more somber and the entire service far more subdued. In this way, the Church reminds both the partners and the entire people of God that one lasting marriage is the Christian norm.

The Orthodox Church’s stand on the “family” can well be summed up in the words of the former Archbishop Iakovos of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of North and South America. He stated, in an encyclical letter issued on the occasion of National Family Week in 1972:

"Home and family life is the bedrock of our Greek Orthodox life-style. The spirit that binds us together as a people finds its deepest roots in the home where the tenderest values of human existence, love, compassion, forbearance and mutual helpfulness thrive in abundance."

There can be no doubt that over the centuries, throughout the many civilizations and cultures around the world, the family has shown itself to be the unifying unit of society.

The "commitment and dedication" of the holy state of marriage and family is cast in terms of sexual behavior. Moral questions relating to sex are generally best understood in the light of this high regard for marriage and the family. Some of the questions on sexual issues addressed by the Orthodox Church are:

A. The Orthodox Church remains faithful to the biblical and traditional norms regarding premarital sexual relations between men and women. The only appropriate and morally fitting place for the exercise of sexual relations, according to the teachings of the Church, is marriage. The moral teaching of the Church on this matter has been unchanging since its foundation. The sanctity of marriage is the cornerstone of sexual morality. The whole range of sexual activity outside marriage - fornication, adultery and homosexuality - are thus seen as not fitting and appropriate to the Christian way of life. Following the tradition of the Church, the second-century Epistle of Barnabas commands "Thou shalt not be an adulterer, nor a corrupter, nor be like to them that are such." St. Basil, the fourth-century Church Father, wrote against the practice (Canons 35 and 77); and the Quinisext Council (A.D. 691) repeated the same condemnation in its eighty-seventh canon. All major Orthodox jurisdictions in the United States have had occasion to repeat the condemnation of adultery.

B. Fornication, adultery, abortion, homosexuality and any form of abusive sexual behavior are considered immoral and inappropriate forms of behavior in and of themselves, and also because they attack the institution of marriage and the family. Concerning abortion, the Orthodox Church condemns all procedures purporting to abort the embryo or fetus, whether by surgical or chemical means. The Orthodox Church brands abortion as murder; that is, as a premeditated termination of the life of a human being. The only time the Orthodox Church will reluctantly acquiesce to abortion is when the preponderance of medical opinion determines that unless the embryo or fetus is aborted, the mother will die. The decisions of the Supreme Court and State legislatures by which abortion, with or without restrictions, is allowed should be viewed by practicing Christians as an affront to their beliefs in the sanctity of life. As to homosexuality, the Orthodox Church believes that homosexuality should be treated by religion as a sinful failure. The Orthodox Church condemns unreservedly all expressions of personal sexual experience which prove contrary to the definite and unalterable function ascribed to sex by God's ordinance and expressed in man's experience as a law of nature. The Church has held to these teachings expressed by synods, canons and patristic pronouncements beginning with the very first centuries of Orthodox ecclesiastical life. But it should be noted that in full confidentiality the Orthodox Church cares and provides pastorally for homosexuals in the belief that no sinner who has failed himself and God should be allowed to deteriorate morally and spiritually.

With the divorce rate, in the United States, at fifty percent, one would expect that some of the popular talk shows would have programs that deal with ‘how to save your marriage’, instead, they offer programs on how to get back into the dating scene or how to marry for money. The latter, stresses that it is more important for, women especially, to seek a partner with money rather then marrying for love. This, along with the Hollywood stars who change marital partners as often as most of us change our socks is sending our children one heck of a message: “How to take someone for all their worth or that the marriage vows don’t mean a thing because you can “dump” the one you are with for someone you think is better, at any time you want.”

For the past forty years or so, both marriage and the family have been under attack from the secular world. We cannot lay blame at the feet of any “one” individual or organization, as Satan has many soldiers in his army of darkness. The attacks have been relentless and they seem to have increased in intensity over the past ten to fifteen years. Some of the attackers have become bolder in their anti-marriage, anti-family stands. All of the organizations, groups or individuals, who are attacking traditional marriage and family life, are doing so through our judicial system, because they know that the things they want to do, would be rejected by the majority of American voters; such as legalized euthanasia and same-sex marriage. By going through the judicial system, they can get the ‘social activist judges to do what they never could do through the ballot box’. If these evil denizens have their way through “social engineering” for what they believe will be a utopian society, they will only succeed in pushing the world into the worst nightmarish hell on earth that mankind has ever seen.

Some of these organizations or groups which promote abortion and euthanasia are; the Women’s Rights organizations; the Gay and Lesbian Rights groups; various Children’s Rights groups; Atheist groups, as well as the Secular Humanists. The feeling of many of the feminist groups is that the ONE thing standing in their way to achieving true equality, is marriage. Isn’t it amazing though, how they are dead set against marriage, yet they fight tooth and nail for same-sex marriages?

To be honest, much of the blame for the decline of marriage and the traditional family, can be assigned to the women’s rights organizations, such as N.O.W. (the National Organization of Women). In their “fight” for equality, they have turned out to be exactly the same as every godless group or would be tyrant, if you “give them an inch, they will take a mile”. Once they acquired equal rights in the work place, they continued to push for more and more, because they did not want equality with men, they wanted to be superior to men, not only in the work place but in the home also. Much of the literature put out by the various women’s groups was geared toward teaching girls that they were better than boys and that they did not need to have a man in their lives. They taught that men were only needed for the purpose of donating their sperm for the producing of children.

This has led to so many women becoming “single mothers”, who enjoy playing the part of the ‘poor suffering martyr’ who balances a career along with raising her children. Then they have the audacity to demand that the father of their children pay child support, but he is not allowed to have anything to do with them.

It was these very same women’s groups that have feminized many young boys in our society, by insisting that they not be given traditional boys toys, rather they have been urged to play with dolls and to get in touch with their “inner girl”. Many schools started to place boys into home economic courses, teaching them how to sew, cook, baby-sit and even apply make-up, while at the same time allowing girls to take the traditional male classes of carpentry, auto mechanics, etc. A direct result of this social reconstruction is the vast number of boys who do not have a proper male role model in their lives. Boys today, do not know how to be men. Is it any wonder that the women’s rights groups were the most ardent supporters of the gay rights groups?

Another sad result of the effect that women’s rights groups have had on the traditional family is that we now have so many single parent (mother only) households that have two or more siblings who each have a different father, and often of different races. With all of this facing them today, is it no wonder that so many young people to day have low self-esteem and other emotional issues? They don’t know their proper role in society, because they have never been taught, and they have no real concept of what a real “family” is.

In today’s open and permissive society, nothing is held sacred anymore. When I was growing up, children never discussed their private sex lives with their parents, nor did their parents discuss theirs with their children, and they certainly did not air their family’s dirty laundry in the public venue. With the legalization of abortion, all respect for life and self has gone out the window. You have men and women appearing on The Jerry Springer Show, The Maury Povich Show, etc., proudly bragging about their adulterous, incestuous or homosexual relations, not only in front of their spouses and children, but in front of a live studio audience and millions more watching on television. And, if it isn’t the parents doing it, it is the children. More and more television shows and movies portray adultery, promiscuity, fornication and homosexuality in a good light.

Then, to make matters worse, many of our public school systems are insisting on knowing what takes place in the privacy of the student’s homes and what kinds of sex the students are having or what their sexual fantasies are (I’m speaking about students in grades 8 – 12).

Lately, we have been witnesses to the push to legalize "same-sex marriages”, both here in America and around the world. Television screens and newspapers are filled with images of men in passionate kisses and the stories of two older women who had spent their entire lives together, who only now have been given those same human rights which more traditional couples have had. The big movie that everybody is talking about today, is Broke Back Mountain”, the story about two gay cowboys falling in love. Much is being put out in the effort to desensitize the public to homosexuality and to gain their sympathy for the “plight” of homosexuals and lesbians.

Those in the gay community claim that they were “born that way and cannot do anything about it”. Since I do not hold a degree in the natural sciences, I cannot offer an opinion on that statement, but I do know that if one were to look at the animal kingdom, one will find cases of homosexuality there, but it is obvious that it is a true departure from "the natural order of things".

There is no need for me to recite all of the Biblical verses that condemn homosexuality because those who are truly Orthodox, already know them and the followers of another gospel, along with the atheists, don’t want to hear them, so I will concentrate on how the gay rights groups are using the legal system to get their agenda pushed through.

They claim that they are being deprived of their rights. To some degree they are right, when it comes to visiting their sick friends, and medical and life insurance are insubstantial, but these can be resolved without constitutional amendments and legislation on marriage. What they really want is the "right to marry." However, there is no such right, nor has there ever been such a right in nature or in society. According to the Constitution of the United States, we have the right to life, the right to work, the right to vote, freedom to worship and the freedom of speech, but in the United States, marriage is more of a privilege than a right: because to marry, to go fishing, to drive a car, etc., requires a license.

Since every culture and society, since the dawn of civilization, has looked upon marriage as the joining of a man and a woman, it is precisely for this reason that the decision of some of the civil authorities to issue marriage certificates to homosexuals is nothing more than an effort to undermine the institution of matrimony. The foundation of any culture is religion (even if it is atheism, or worldliness elevated to the rank of religious ideal). It is religion or moral codes that determine the limitations of what is to be permitted. If the civil authorities were to permit same-sex marriages because homosexuals are born that way, so they should not be discriminated against, the pedophiles can exploit the crack in the judicial system and declare that no scientific findings show that the expression of "love" has any effect on the development of a child--there simply are none, and besides we are born that way. The same goes for someone who wants to “marry” their pet dog, goat, sheep or monkey. If the law denies them the “right” to marriage, then we are suppressing the rights of zoophiles, for they, too, were "born that way."

Another enemy of the traditional family has been our “culture of death.” With the advent of abortion, we, as a society, have lost our respect for life. The argument used was for the right to have a legal and safe abortion only in the case of rape, incest or if the mother’s life would be in danger if she were to go ahead with the birth, and only in the first trimester of the pregnancy.  But as in all cases, when one gives in to evil, one starts down a slippery slope. Now, it is abortion on demand for any reason what-so-ever at anytime during the pregnancy, even in the ninth month. Once again, this was brought about the women’s rights organizations. What kind of message do you think this sends to young children, when they know that their mother has no qualms about ending the life of the most defenseless of children, the unborn? This is the ultimate in child abuse! Oh yes, many children do think about such things, they may not express it, but subconsciously it is on their minds---“If mommy did that to my unborn brother or sister, what will she do to me?”

From the legalization of abortion, society has now progressed to the point of fighting to legalize euthanasia, a person’s so-called right to die, another nail in the coffin of the traditional family. Do not fool yourself, once we, as a society, legalize doctor assisted suicide, we will be throwing ourselves headlong down another slippery slope, because it WILL lead to becoming one’s DUTY to die once they can no longer be full contributors to society or to their families.

It is sad when we stop to think that Western European culture, since ancient times, was Christian. For this reason, Western laws and traditions were based on religion, which until fairly recently needed no defense or explanation. But ever since the time of the separation of church and state, all Western cultures, including the United States, have been undergoing a gradual de-Christianization, when the remnants of Christian underpinnings and traditions (for example, prayer in schools, Christian symbolism, traditional marriages, etc.) are attacked one after the other through the courts and removed, since there is no foundation for them in a godless society. All of these changes in society, show the apostasy, the decay and the irreversible processes of the corruption of society. No wonder we are seeing at least three generations of people who are totally hedonistic and filled with “issues” and problems with “self-esteem”. They are empty souls wandering aimlessly through endless spiritual desolation, grasping at every false hope held out to them by the myriad of false prophets that dot their godless landscape, instead of turning back to the TRUE Church which awaits them with open arms.

It is most difficult to remain indifferent, while living in Sodom or Gomorrah. Every TRUE Christian cannot help but have a negative reaction when all that is holy is trampled and mocked, when the very basis of Christian life, built by Christians for centuries, struggling along the path from the cross to our present day, are thrown upon the trash heap of history. Those in school or in the work place, who speak-out against this evil, are “forced” to attend “sensitivity training”, which is nothing more than good old-fashioned “brain washing” used by communist countries. Even many so-called Christian churches and groups gushingly tell us that we must show love, respect and tolerance toward those that are “living an alternative” life-style. Then why don’t we, as a society, carry this thought to the nth degree, and show this same love, respect and tolerance to rapists, child molesters, murders and the rest of society’s misfits?

How then, should an Orthodox Christian react to such changes in the world today? We must think of our children and protect them with all our strength from that which destroys the soul. It is not easy to raise your children according to Christian principles, while living in a secular society that claims all religions to be equal. How do you explain to your son or daughter that they are not permitted to pray in school, but they can learn about sex.? How do you explain to your child that it is not only legal for John and Judy to marry and have a family, but it is also legal for Jimmy to marry Tommy and Sally to marry Alice? And then to top it off, our legal system allows these same-sex couples to adopt children.

How do you teach your son or daughter that God established marriage, not as a mere civil contract between two people that can be broken when someone else comes along, but as one of the Mysteries of the Church alongside Baptism, Communion, etc. Those entering into marriage do not perform the Mystery, it is God Himself Who performs it. The Orthodox marriage is a union of grace, blessed by God.

The hardest task we face today, is raising faithful children in a faithless secular world. Our children are looking to us for guidance, and they see how temporary our marriages and families have become, yet, deep down inside, they have a deep desire of having a faithful, long-lasting marriage for themselves. With all of the single parent families and different types of families (Billy with two daddies, Sally with two mommies, Alice with two or three daddies, etc.) we have to admit that the model is still marriage and the traditional family unit for general society and the Church.

If we are to succeed in this task, we ourselves must show that we, as adults and parents, are faithful to God, His Word and to His Church. We cannot and should not expect the public school system to teach our children morals. They can NOT and will NOT. I would very strongly suggest that if a private or parochial school is beyond your financial means, there is nothing wrong with, and it is not illegal for you to home school your children. You can even set up a home school group with other members of your church, so that you can share the responsibility and the cost. It is a proven fact that “home schooled” children, do far better on college entrance exams and score much better on other scholastic tests.

To teach our children about a truly Christian marriage, we ourselves must live our own lives as models of true Christian fidelity, and thus teach them the truth about love the way God intended, in contrast to the grass image of love in the secular world. By giving your children your time, attention and parental direction, they will learn that human love intimately unites one person to another. By living our lives in a Christ centered way through the Church, and maintaining our marriage and family life as an extension of Christ’s Church within our homes, and if we teach our children the proper time, place and use of our sexuality, letting them know that God designed human love and sexuality to draw us to Him, they will have a firm foundation on which to build the CULTURE OF LIFE. They will come to realize and truly believe that the ONLY true marriage is between ONE man and ONE woman.

We, at do cause for "Point" and "Counterpoint" discussions at our web site.  This is sometimes the same way in which authors and writers do in order to bring about both sides or arguments in discussions or about some issues affecting the Church as a whole.  Abbot +Gregori and our Metropolitan Archbishop do this from time to time.  What part of celibacy does one not understand?

However, it has come to our attention that un-named individual(s) think it wise and not harmful to start attacking by taking copyrighted materials to use in their own web site without permission, per se: as for an example, the subjects pertaining to "Homosexuals" and "Homosexuality in the Church," etc. for the purpose of advancing their own causes to start their attacking of other(s) which is not bound in and with the Church, but with a personal agenda of self-image because of anger, hate, fear and worse.  They are Roman in attitude and practice, but not Orthodox, although calling themselves "Orthodox" even "Celtic".

It is understood, according to information and belief, that three of his/her/their websites may have been closed by former service providers due to complaints against him/them for internet terrorism, spewing "hate" and causing for an individual whom he/they discuss, to be exposed to potential physical harm which happened in the early part of the 2005 when they thought themselves wise in their own conceit, for things of more than 13 years in the past.  What part of "Hate" - "Exposing another to threats of losing life" - "Internet Terrorism" does he/they not understand? Now, under other domain names, the same/similar hate messages re-occur against the same individual.

We find them to be un-orthodox and un-Christian in spirit and truth for they continue to argue things of the past that is not a part of the Life and Teachings of Jesus Christ, and (in fact) go against the very commandments of Jesus Christ!  And those who do such are, it is opined upon investigation and in most instances, the very one(s) who had been or are under ban as excommunicated individuals posing as duly ordained clergy who had been a part of this jurisdiction (and so many numerous others) in times past.

Webmaster         's NOTE:  A few have sent inquiries as to why we post information and/or articles relating to what might be considered as political and sometimes from other Protestants .  And the reply is much the same as it states on the entry page....  We Are:

Traditional Orthodox Jurisdictions

While the answer and question above is not sufficient for some to understand, we take the view (which we believe is ORTHODOX) that all things pertinent to life and living affects, and has an effect, upon not just our belief (Orthodox), but (for many) the way in which we act in accordance with our belief, our very faith.

Because this is a highly Protestant Country in which we live, having an effect upon the laws of the land, we should know something of what is on-going and where efforts by those denominations may affect and have a intrinsic effect on our very laws, for such does have an effect upon our daily lives as Orthodox Catholic Christians.

If one is not cognizant of the real events happening both locally and in the world, although many are removed from the world... one will not know what to expect or what to do, or how one can or cannot act which might betray one's faith and accrue the wrath of civil authorities as laws change.  Yet, we are also reminded that these things must happen and it was for that which there exists many early Christian Martyrs and Saints.

While we can remove ourselves from the world, we still live in it.  And for the faithful, theirs is a struggle for knowledge and understanding.  All things are pertinent to the Orthodox Catholic Christian Faith which is the very foundation of Christianity.  As such, we can not abandon them and leave them blind to events and happenings.

What we post as related to those things similar to various articles which might have a political theme or non-Orthodox Catholic Christian content, of sorts, does not mean or imply that we are supportive of, or against something articulated in an article, so much as it is NEWS and our faithful should be made aware, for such may be the very thing that will impact their day-to-day life.

Remember, not all Protestants, especially hard core cultic groups such as "Charismatic" - "Evangelical" and other people are not so generous in their viciousness toward anyone and anything that appears "Catholic" whether of the Roman or Orthodox jurisdictions, for they do not know or want to learn that which makes them "different" in their walk and talk as being far from the roots of Christianity.

Remember, it is the Roman jurisdiction which has more outwardly shown that it can be one of the most vicious toward those who are not Roman but are very much "Catholic" - for the sun and moon does not rise and set on the Vatican (Latin or Roman) jurisdiction as to who is or is not "Catholic" for the Roman jurisdiction split (schismed) from the roots of "Catholicism" which is founded in what is termed and called today as "Orthodoxy".

Any good article or piece of information will be considered so long as it is not defamatory or slanderous toward an individual when not based on TRUTH or FACT, or which is altered out of context from its original publishing by recognized sources.

A Curse or a Blessing?  Depending on to whom it may...

There are unscrupulous people on the internet these days.  Some of them are not who they claim to be and in order to disrupt honest spiritual pursuits, they are known to send out e-mail under someone else's name or the name of another church or jurisdiction with attachments.  Anyone can do this, if they want.  Some of them exist in Toledo, Ohio... Some in Texas... Others in Michigan, California and many other places... Some are "haters of truth" who follow (whether they are willing to admit it) those who have sway over less educated or ignorant people... as their are also those who do not even know what they are doing because they seek glory to satisfy their own vanity and selfish pride to take over a church or jurisdiction of another, or to wreck havoc over those whom they hate without considering the Gospel Message of Jesus Christ.

If you should ever receive an e-mail with an attachment purporting to be from anyone at "" - "" or even "" - - - know that our policy is to not send out e-mail from any of our domain names with an attachment.  Therefore, don't open it! If you receive any e-mail from, or and have never before communicated with us... even if you have communicated with us... verify, verify and again, verify.

Unless we know exactly from whom an e-mail comes... nothing is clicked on or opened, not even attachments!  You would be surprised from whom 'hate' e-mail arrives and what attempts and extremes they go to make their e-mails "look" official when it is a lone person or persons who hate TRUTH and love lies, hate anything from being posted that involves TRUTH because they may be affected with exposure to the LIVING TRUTH of Jesus Christ's Love.

Also: Hang Up Telephone Calls constantly get to you?

We get them all the time.  But one thing we do that many are unaware of... We keep an automatic telephone log and then we turn them over to the same group who monitors and interacts with the hackers, etc.

It no longer matters if the caller calls once in a day, every other day or every day or several times a week, once a week for several months... All get logged, even those who think they have escaped notice by using the actual I.D. Caller number of "000-000-0000" which is being used of late.

It is known that a telephone number showing up may actually be a telephone service provider phone number, yet... they too keep logs and information as to each individual cellular or local (their locale) phone usage...

In the not-to-distant future, we intend to post some of those telephone numbers which constantly show up as "harassing hang-up" callers.  May be, you too have the same?  If so, may be we can assist in interacting to go further in bringing them to justice...

Contact us by E-Mail... provide us with your telephone number (U.S. residents only)... so that we may telephone you and assess the information.

Keep Watch!

Those who do such unscrupulous things, HATE some of the news, quotes, and such as to inform the general public.  Some of them pose as clergy, while a few are actually clergy from various "other" offshoot AMERICAN ORTHODOX CHURCH or other jurisdiction(s) of the same or similar name of which we are, in some instances, their former MOTHER CHURCH (as is the same named Toledo, Ohio based, an offshoot, who had once been a part of us and unknowingly to our unworthy selves, were once a part of the clergy but they did not obtain permission to leave the jurisdiction they were under, according to Canon, and thus obtained for themselves re-ordination and consecrations, several times... and then using a variety of church names, including our own after they were defrocked and excommunicated, having more than three (3) times being excommunicated by other legitimate apostles/bishops); having joined in and with  "Independent" churches who have nothing to do with us or even true Orthodoxy.  We have the information on their numerous "Paper Church" names and name changes.  But the real issue is whether they were ever truly an ordained Priest and bishop?

It is true that when one is ordained to the priesthood, the old saying of "Once a Priest, always a priest forever..." holds true... But where there has been or is deception and fraud involved, the old saying is invalid altogether which is the stool kicked out from under any subsequent consecrations as a Bishop for the Episcopacy has then been obtained on a sheet of lies and therefore they are frauds, wolves in sheep's clothing.  The problem here is with civil authorities and agencies.

Any documents a false one obtains from those who ordained him, including subsequent documents relating to consecrations; civil authorities never (or hardly ever) verify their validity and thus issue their own documents and errantly recognize the individual.

These false sheep in wolf's clothing seek to go out of their way to character assassinate and disparage religious web sites who do not meet their own brand of standardization and those who know where the proverbial "bones are buried on them" which is evidence of the wolf not being "Orthodox" "Christian" or even "Catholic" no matter what their nomenclature corporate name may be.  The Toldeo, Ohio based same or similar named person/group under his/their so-called leader has been deposed, defrocked and excommunicated more than three different times by various bishops/apostles.  He, and several others, have become just as bad as the modern day Ecumenists of the National Council of Churches, World Council of Churches, the World Council of Bishops and more.  It matters not now... whether they use the so-called "Athonite" "Benedictine" "Celtic" "Old Roman" "Old Catholic" - etc. names.  A name does not make one Christian. Their ultimate aim and goal is destruction to those from whom they had either originated from or gone through to obtain the same or similar named "church" they claim to hold to by the state's civil law in which they reside alone.  They are not a "Schema-monk" or even a true "monk" for they were deposed and excommunicated for violations of the Holy Rule they claim to subscribe to, giving and openly providing false misleading and inaccurate information about other more honorable clergy.  These 'wolves in sheep's clothing attract other nefarious and questionable persons whose aims are similar: for fame, image, power and glory, and if it should be that 'fortunes' come along, all the more is their power based.

Remember, anything that is a HALF TRUTH is not truth but a lie!  Many there are that you may know who fit those descriptions... pray for them.  Pray that God will send his Spirit of Truth upon them and lead them to Salvation through tears of Repentance, conversion of their cold and calculating hearts toward seeking forgiveness from God and those whom they attempt to harm.

Those who receive e-mail from us, know who we are and from where we send mail.  There are also many who know that they can send e-mail under another group or person's e-mail address, which has been happening.  If you receive e-mail that purports itself to be from us, verify first by hitting your "reply" button and ask, "I received this e-mail but would like verification if it is from you.

If you are of another jurisdiction, you too could find that your parishioners, clergy and faithful might become subject to the same as we have recently found.

Let this be a warning to visitors so as to be safeguarded against unscrupulous e-mails which contain viruses, worms and unsavory material from person(s) organizations or institutions that are more self-serving than uplifting and informatively news worthy.

For ourselves, we have, as in the past, so once again, acquired the assistance of those who are able and capable of tracing e-mails back to their source and taking appropriate action in North America.

We have learned that the organization we subscribe to, whose members come from various legal and law enforcement backgrounds amongst other areas of society, are committed to the faith even though they may hold different theologies.  Yet, in their monitoring of electronic communications of various persons or people, they do not always make haste to bring perpetrators to justice until after enough evidence has been gained in order to build a solid case.  We do not always know what information they have gained, but we do know the organization, whom we've been asked not to name, has had a 97% success rate in bringing to justice and obtaining a conviction against individuals, people, and sometimes even religious organizations of a persona that gives the appearance of both secular and religious bearing but who abuse and misuse technology.  The organization views those who abuse and misuse the internet and other technologies as nothing more than a form of "domestic terrorism" - - - - and, it would seem to appear that the courts are in agreement!

Those kinds of people, organizations, etc. who misuse and abuse communication technologies are no different than those who attempt to use coercive measures, and in some instance, even blackmail for the same idea is involved... to cause havoc and wreckage, to destroy the spirit and activity of those who struggle in the faith out of pain of heart for the Orthodox Church which is TRUTH. The degree that some have been known to go to, as seen by other jurisdictions, is to take advantage of questionably mentally challenged or those who have a lack of education and understanding to get them to make statements, even outright lies, in writing, in order to destroy.  Such persons or groups are spiritual terrorists for unholy and un-Orthodox causes, aims and goals.

Yes, our Metropolitan Archbishop, +Joseph Thaddeus, SSJt., Ph.D. strongly defends the Seals of the Confessional for such leads to true Repentance in thought, word and deed whereby the penitent is required to make amends, where possible, to seek forgiveness of those harmed by his actions whether real or imagined, and to give his forgiveness to those who have harmed him before taking the Holy Body and Blood in the Eucharist, Jesus the Christ.  The reality of this understanding is bound up in and with the findings for which cause he, himself, had been character assassinated by his detractors who claim the courts prevented him from breaking the Seals of the Confessional which is not the truth at all.... Click here to see what another bishop's findings are...

The workings of Holy Spirit will not be daunted by those who attempt to cause disruption!  It is for these and other reasons that you are urged to read what true repentance and forgiveness means for real "Christians".

"It would be better to have ten (10) true repentant X-felons who ask for and give true forgiveness than it would be to have one (1) non-x-felon or common person whose self-righteousness exceeds even the Pharisees, Sadducees, the gossip mongers, slanderers and un-repentant; for the repentant x-felon understands the true meaning of the Church's purpose as being the spiritual hospital." Yes... "Prejudice Makes Prisoners of the Hated and the Hater..." (1992-Fr. Alan Stanford)

One can ask, "What part of 'Prejudice' and 'hate' do you not understand?  Are you a complacent person?  In light of the saying, examine yourself!  You may be surprised if you are honest with yourself for your soul may convict you before Jesus Christ convicts you in the times to come!

"When tested by some trial you should try to find out not why or through whom it came, but only how to endure it gratefully, without distress or rancor."

St. Mark the Ascetic.

Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, Whose sin is covered. Blessed is the man to whom the Lord does not impute iniquity, And in whose spirit there is no deceit." Psalms 32:1-2
