About Those Who are Catholic?
With flourishing e-mail questions abounding over the internet since the Roman Jurisdiction of the Catholic Church changed its leadership to a more Synchrestic ecumenist approach that had barely begun with its predecessor; we see a flourishing of other so-called "Catholic" or "catholic" jurisdictions and groups doing similarly. What does all of this include?
Well.. let's take a look... most of them are called "Independent" Catholic, Independent Movement, Old Catholic, Benedictine, some are Old Roman Catholics and so very many others that now is growing in numbers that even Utrecht finds it difficult to keep pace with the burgeoning numbers who lay claim to their lines of Succession.
On examining many of those jurisdictions and groups one finds something rather horrible and disgusting taking place. Something that has always been rejected by the ancient One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church both East and West... that is the acceptance of Pentecostal theologies and beliefs, such found in one group especially calling themselves Old Catholic Benedictine. Their founder, Dr. Donald Weeks who now resides in Oklahoma was indeed ordained and consecrated as one of the Old Catholic Bishops, with a questionable consecration by the reposed +Wallace David de Ortega Maxey as the Metropolitan Archbishop +Thaddeus pointed out several years ago... but because many were willing to hang themselves with suspicious responses in the eyes of God and man with by jumping on the proverbial band-wagon to accommodate his need for validation of his orders, no one was willing to come forward to tell the truth as +Wallace David de Ortega Maxey stated prior to his demise about how those orders were conferred. So, we leave that subject alone.
I am one of those who showed up in 2005 for a synod meeting in Deming, New Mexico for the American Orthodox Church. I arrived a day late, and found out what terrible actions were claimed by those who had showed up out of a Northern State and claimed negative things concerning +Thaddeus by leaving before the Synod even had a chance to get under way. As a member (under a pseudonym) of Dr. Weeks' group, I was one of many who received private e-mails disparaging to both +Thaddeus and the AOC from a bishop of another jurisdiction who thought he'd be elected to take over the jurisdiction. His disparaging remarks, and those with him, were off kilter and wholly fabricated because I know the members on both sides of the fence. And I know that the purpose of those quiet or silent e-mails after their return, was for one purpose only. His own consecration to validate something he was not even worthy of. He is not Orthodox although very much Catholic along the Anglican lines resultant from his affiliation, but no direct connection to the former David Luther. It is interesting about how others can make false claims about +Thaddeus but cannot own up to their own political actions to quietly besmirch behind the scenes those who have been in the vineyard far longer than they have. I was with +Thaddeus before his false conviction and after he returned to full service. I was at several meetings where he was in attendance of ICCI when it was under Bernard Dawe. I knew Dr. Weeks and many others. I personally know Dr. Jolly (Gabriel). I even knew +David Luther on a personal basis as well as +Thaddeus and +Jerome Joachim. So the bishop out of the Northern State has attempted to play one-upman-ship and is the real culprit.
But, as a result of many things that have been said over time by the members of Dr. Weeks' group concerning +Thaddeus, both openly and in private e-mails, my conscience has caused me to step forward with this article because I've known the players and some of the causes for their actions to boot +Thaddeus off that group.
On taking a close look at the several groups, including the one mentioned; that have come and gone over time and history, we see that the so-called "Benedictine" group is actually not so much "Catholic" in its faith, but a bastardization of Catholic theology and beliefs intermixed with a front of Catholic liturgics but all all other things heretical and never before accepted by the ancient Church. It is a group of "Cafeteria Catholicism" as +Thaddeus correctly called them. There was, at one time, shortly before, during and after Dr. Weeks was falsely charged with molestation, that he had taken a path to divest himself of many of the heretical theological beliefs and became more and more "Catholic" to the point of verging on what may be termed as "Orthodox" in his approach. I was one of those who, not a member of +Thaddeus' jurisdiction directly, became a proponent for Dr. Weeks. Something happened along the way.
Something that caused for Dr. Weeks to return to his former heretical path. That was the inculcation of those who believe themselves "Catholic" who played upon his vanity (spiritual and material) and the fact that he was truly suffering from both the material affects of the devastation that took place in Oakland, California, while also the affects that was causing further damage to his true and severe health issues. I recall visiting Dr. Weeks in Oakland after he was raided, helping him as much as I could which didn't amount to very much. Another close friend, a priest in the Old Catholic movement, after returning from visiting Dr. Weeks in Oklahoma, had said he saw a dramatic change in Dr. Weeks' mental attitude and memory that is not good at all. According to what was said, Dr. Weeks has been continually 'managed' whether he is aware of it or not.. and that he's returned to a more strong Pentecostal attitude under the "Catholic" front. A mixture of apples, cucumbers, spinach and what have you. We can only wonder who is quietly micro-managing him?
It must be admitted that there are some pretty honest and sincere Pentecostals who do not bite the image bullet; preferring to distance themselves from those of the their mainline cult because of the heady issues with televangelists whose pride and vanity, changing of teachings and worse, have caused for a departure in spirit from that which they had previously been strict observers of. Many of Dr. Weeks' group members, not all of them, are "Catholic" converts in name and appearance only; having less than honorable means for belonging to that group and less than an enthralling understanding of what it means to even be "Catholic" let alone with a little "c"... They ordain women, advocate things so totally repugnant to the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church that their own members are nothing more than "Roman" wanna-bees without the "Pope" and "control". And that is about all they are concerned with. They want total independence to do and say whatever they want without being faithful observers of those things that are really traditional. There was a posting, a discussion thread at one time concerning a telephone area code that they had telephoned due to their being swept up into a telephone scam, not listening to sound advice about [Important Info about a Telephone Scam out of Area Codes 809, 284, and 876] searching the news at apostle1.com and visiting some of the other articles because, as Dr. Weeks stated, "many of your articles are to long to read"... which says much about how lazy the faith has become to those who are "Cafeteria Catholics" in these times where it is all the more important to read more thoroughly such articles that have a bearing on both life, living and the true faith. But this is just an example of what is happening not only in the Americas, but around the world too. I know that the real reason is fear of loosing members in Dr. Weeks' group and that is the real reason for +Thaddeus' removal because Dr. Weeks and many of those in his group fear being shown truth. As +Thaddeus might say, "they have cold and calculating hearts' being more concerned for self-image and the 'let everyone do anything they want' approach with nice sweet words of endearment".
Obviously, with this one example one should question themselves insofar as to what are the various questionable jurisdictions and their hierarchy. It is indeed true that as time moves on, we have seen and will see more and more various Orthodox Jurisdictions bedding down with apostates of all kinds. There has come a need for discovery on the part of the true seeker of truth. And to those ends, apostle1.com has embarked on that path since 1997.
To be "Catholic" is more than just belonging to a jurisdiction with that term in their name... it is more than belonging, but adhering to the all the tenets of the faith as it was delivered from ancient times. To be truly "Catholic" means that one must return to the ancient ways and beliefs in such a fashion that one's spiritual struggle in these present times will not be impinged by artful entertainments and deceiving persons and their cults. For to be truly "Catholic" is to be what is termed in these present times as "Orthodox".

Traditional Orthodox Jurisdictions
While the answer and question above is not sufficient for some to understand, we take the view (which we believe is ORTHODOX) that all things pertinent to life and living affects, and has an effect, upon not just our belief (Orthodox), but (for many) the way in which we act in accordance with our belief, our very faith.
Because this is a highly Protestant Country in which we live, having an effect upon the laws of the land, we should know something of what is on-going and where efforts by those denominations may affect and have a intrinsic effect on our very laws, for such does have an effect upon our daily lives as Orthodox Catholic Christians.
If one is not cognizant of the real events happening both locally and in the world, although many are removed from the world... one will not know what to expect or what to do, or how one can or cannot act which might betray one's faith and accrue the wrath of civil authorities as laws change. Yet, we are also reminded that these things must happen and it was for that which there exists many early Christian Martyrs and Saints.
While we can remove ourselves from the world, we still live in it. And for the faithful, theirs is a struggle for knowledge and understanding. All things are pertinent to the Orthodox Catholic Christian Faith which is the very foundation of Christianity. As such, we can not abandon them and leave them blind to events and happenings.
What we post as related to those things similar to various articles which might have a political theme or non-Orthodox Catholic Christian content of sorts ... does not mean or imply that we are supportive of, for, or against something articulated in an article, so much as it is NEWS and our faithful should be made aware, for such may be the very thing that will impact their day-to-day life. It is for them, their free will... to judge the relevancy.
Remember, not all Protestants, especially hard core cultic groups such as "Charismatic" - "Evangelical" "Promise Keepers" "Church of Christ" "Methodism" "Pentecostals" "Jehovah's Witnesses" "Mormons" and other people are not so generous in their viciousness toward anyone and anything that appears "Catholic" whether of the Roman or Orthodox jurisdictions, for they do not know or want to learn that which makes them "different" in their walk and talk as being far from the roots of Christianity.
Remember, it is the Roman jurisdiction of the Catholic Church which has more outwardly shown that it can be one of the most vicious toward those who are not Roman but are very much "Catholic" - for the sun and moon does not rise and set on the Vatican (Latin or Roman) jurisdiction as to who is or is not "Catholic" for the Roman jurisdiction split (schismed) from the roots of "Catholicism" which is founded in what is termed and called today as "Orthodoxy".
Any good article or piece of information will be considered so long as it is not defamatory or slanderous toward an individual when not based on TRUTH or FACT, or which is altered out of context from its original publishing by recognized sources. Yes, our Metropolitan Archbishop, +Joseph Thaddeus, SSJt., Ph.D. strongly defends the Seals of the Confessional for such leads to true Repentance in thought, word and deed whereby the penitent is required to make amends, where possible, to seek forgiveness of those harmed by his actions whether real or imagined, and to give his forgiveness to those who have harmed him before taking the Holy Body and Blood in the Eucharist, Jesus the Christ. The reality of this understanding is bound up in and with the findings for which cause he, himself, had been character assassinated by his detractors who claim the courts prevented him from breaking the Seals of the Confessional which is not the truth at all....
