Weekend Specials or not?

Since our having been given the task of maintaining this web site, both of us have held long discussions with our Vladyka +Thaddeus and have asked him to give some deep thought toward providing us with special Weekend articles concerning whatever he feels would aid not only those who serve the Church under him, but for visitors to this web site as well, with spiritual and material understandings.  He said he would pray and meditate on it since he has been devoting most of his time to the needs of the Church and the clergy.  Of course, he has had recent surgery as well. 

Yesterday, Monday (2/25/2010), he replied by e-mail that he would accept our offer and said he could not provide us with advance information as to what he would write about because he writes from the heart which is more often than not, on the spur of the moment.  So, starting anytime from Fridays through Sundays, we shall be prepared to post what ever he sends us.  And, for you who visit this web site... you may wish to re-visit from time to time to see if it has been posted. 

Vladyka has asked us also to extend this invitation to other clergy of special mention who he holds near and dear to his bosom who he feels are doing God's work in different ways than most.  He has informed us of who some of them would be, but prepared us in advance about them because there are some who are seen or viewed more as "political" warriors than warriors for Christ, Jesus.  He said that in the Church's history there have always been some clergy who have been viewed as not being wholly "spiritual" warriors as they have been viewed by society and other clergymen as being more materialistic in their actions of being 'political' - - - as being more concerned about what is or has been happening in their homelands and/or throughout the world.  Vladyka said that, in spiritual truth, those must be considered as Christ's own because they are preparing people for material hurt to come, by providing them glimpses into the actions of secular politicians, princes, kings, presidents, and others who hold the reigns of control over people.  This too, Vladyka said, is a warrior who is doing God's work for the people, by such preparation of the people.  For what we are able, to become prepared in this life for what lies ahead, means we can arm our spiritual self (inwardly) for what lies on the other side of this life, that is to say, the life to come after we go to our repose. But while in this life, we must also be alert in so far as we can to those things that would block, hurt, maim or rather limit or destroy our true Christian belief in action daily. 

One can only ask... Is it really important to know what is going on in society as we know it for the life to come? ? ? Is it really necessary to know at all as to what one can or should expect?  Vladyka thinks that Prophesy is given to help people now for the times ahead  even though we should be preparing for the life to come.  One cannot deal with today's society unless they have an idea of what to expect.  And one cannot deal with the life to come after this one unless they have an idea of what to expect too.  Do both go hand'n hand? Monks in monasteries are usually cut off from the antics of a society gone 'mad' shall we say, because they are devoted to their immediate survival and more so for the survival of their soul after this life, that is preparing themselves and the flock for the life to come.  What are you doing? Is it important to know what's going on or what to expect in the here and now or for the here-in-after? or is both true?
