The Signs Of His Coming

Page Five (5)

All the signs that Our Lord has given us in relation to this event, if you were to look them up are, as you will see, all taking place in the Spring Time. With this in mind, let's go over these signs and parables.

The first sign is in Matthew (xxiv.32): "Now from the fig tree learn this parable. When the branch is now tender, and the leaves break forth, you know that summer is near. Even so, when you see all these things, know that it is near, even at the door." Now some thought Christ was referring to Israel here, who would bear fruit again in the end times. But we can take it as Spring Time as well. Next, as a second sign, (not necessarily taken in the same order as they appear in Scripture) is found reference to the harvesting of souls (John iv.35; Matt, xii.30); Jesus talks about when the "wheat is white for the harvest".

The wheat is harvested in the Middle East in the Spring Time. This parallels with the Church's color for the Easter Season: white. Whitsunday, or Pentecost, "is so-called" by the Catholic Encyclopedia (The Catholic Encyclopedia, Vol. xiv, article "Whitsunday."), "from the white garments which were worn by those who were baptized during the vigil." The two Sundays that God came back take place in the Spring Time. On the Sunday that Our Lord Jesus Christ conies back in the Apocalypse (xi.14), He has a sickle in His hand, which is used for the harvesting of the wheat. This, too, would indicate Spring Time.

One other time when God the Father came down from heaven in the Spring Time was in giving us the Ten Commandments.
In the Acts of the Apostles (i. 11), the Angel talking about the Ascension of Our Lord states, "Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking up to heaven? This Jesus who has been taken up from you into heaven, shall come in the same way as you have seen him going to heaven." In this case, it can be taken in the same sense, in the Spring Time.

It may now be surmised that Our Lord will come back on Sunday in the Spring Time. But which Sunday? Apocalypse (xiv.14) says, "Put forth thy sickle and reap, for the hour to reap is come, because the harvest of the earth is ripe." This parallels Deuteronomy (xvi.9), "You shall count off seven weeks, computing them from the day when the sickle is first put to the standing grain"; and Leviticus (xxiii.15 and 16), "You shall count therefore from the morrow after the Sabbath, wherein you offered the sheaf of the first fruits, seven full weeks. Even unto the morrow after the seventh week be expired, that is to say, fifty days..." This more commonly became known as Pentecost, encompassing the Easter Season (Paschal Time).

When are Christians more ripe for the harvest if not during the Easter Season? (Church obligations). This all points to which Sunday in the Easter season is the Day of General Judgment.

In the close of the Jewish Pentecost you have the Hebrew Harvest Home Festival, when they would take an inventory of the grain and the first fruits stored in the Temple as they are celebrating the giving of the Ten Commandments. In the Christian Church it commemorates the descent of the Holy Ghost upon the Apostles, creating a great harvest of souls for the Early Church, commonly referred to as the Church's birthday. So you have the First Person of the Blessed Trinity coming down from heaven in the same season the Third Person comes down from heaven. And the evidence indicates that the Second Person of the Blessed Trinity is going to do likewise. In the Apocalypse (xiv. 14) Jesus has a sickle in his hand for the harvest.

What other Sunday should be chosen but the one that celebrates the birthday of the New Church (new law/testament) and at the same time is celebrated the birthday of the old church (old law/testament)? What other than Pentecost Sunday!

The Hebrew Pentecost starts from the Passover Full Moon. The Old Church and the New Church go by the Moon Calendar.  The Passover Full Moon that Our Lord celebrated at the Last Supper was also the Spring Full Moon. The Church adopted the Spring Full Moon for our Passover, but the Jews keep theirs in April. That is why some years we both have the same Passover Full Moon. The Spring Full Moon is the first full moon after March 21. Hence, the following Sunday after this full moon is Easter, or Resurrection Sunday. This is why the Sundays of the Church calendar fall on different dates from year to year: the moon fluctuates from year to year. This throws light on the difficulty of picking a fixed date for the General Judgment. To illustrate an example, if I said to you: "I'm going out of town and will be back ten years from now, Christmas Day", you would not have a problem figuring out what date that is: 1997 plus 10 years is 2007, or December 25, 2007. On the other hand, there is no way you could figure out what the date Pentecost Sunday would be ten years from now without knowing where the Easter full moon would be. All you could do would be to assume that it would be between May and June in the year 2007. That may be one of the reasons Our Lord said only the Father knows (because of the difficulty and complexity of the question, let alone that Sunday worship had not as yet been instituted).

"His posterity shall continue forever, and his throne shall be like the sun before me. Like the moon, which remains forever a faithful witness in the sky" (Psalm lxxxviii.37).

Does the General Judgment take place in one day? NO! Although, as certain as we can be about Pentecost Sunday, trying to explain why the General Judgment takes a week is a lot more difficult to explain. Besides, having Tradition that the creation took a week, the Church doesn't state what kind of time was used for each day of creation. Obviously once we go into a spiritual state we will experience two different time modes: spiritual and temporal (earthly). There is one passage in the Apocalypse that makes reference to this, although it is not very clear. In chapter 17, verse 11, this passage seems to allude to the seven weeks and one day of the eighth week of Pentecost. Pentecost means fifty. This seems to indicate the time period when the Beast is destroyed at the end of the Easter season, starting on Pentecost Sunday. The New Age One World Religion represents the Beast of the Apocalypse.

Let's reflect on what takes place during the General Judgment. The first thing that happens is that all living humans start to become transformed—that means we begin to go into a spiritualized state. All the souls in heaven and hell must return and be reunited with their bodies. God will inform us all before we leave what the state of every human being will be as each one will have their Second Judgment. Although I am not sure about those who come back from heaven, perhaps it's just to be a witness to each other before we go to our final destiny. In this way, everyone will again know the results of each others judgment. This will take some time (in human terms) and a week seems logical for the time involved for this be accomplished. Purgatory wilt not be available to us once the General Judgment takes place, but will cease to exist (Council of Trent).

Does God give us an approximate time to which this event will take place? Yes He does. Jesus Christ will return when the Great Apostasy runs its course (2 Thess. U.3), predicted to be about 40 years (Apoc. xvii.12; xviii. 10-20; II Peter iii.8). (Rev. Dr. P. Huchede, History of the Antichrist, p. 59, indicates 45 years.)

As I pointed out earlier, the Church obligates us to our Easter Commitment. In reflecting on this, would not Lent now be more meaningful since it is used for the preparation for the End of the World? And how coincidental that the Lenten rules have been relaxed since Vatican Council II in a time when we have the TRUE signs of Our Lord's Coming!

One other major event which takes place during the Easter Season, but doesn't take place on Sunday, is the opening of Heaven on Ascension Thursday (Catechism of the Council of Trent). Nevertheless, when is the last time you heard (if ever) from the pulpit that at last, finally, after four thousand years, heaven is finally open. Alleluia. If confidence is lacking in expressing a known Church teaching, where is the courage going to come from for the exposure of the DAY OF THE GENERAL JUDGMENT.

Christians, it is time to break down the barriers once and for all and get the word out NOW! As Saint Peter proclaimed on Pentecost Sunday:

"And it shall come to pass in the last days, says the Lord, that in those days I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh and your sons and daughters shall prophesy" (Acts ii.17).

My friends, prophesying what??? What else but the obvious: Christ is coming back on Pentecost Sunday. What are we waiting for?

Let us give the world this free gift of forgiveness, charity, and wisdom with which God is blessing us. Shouting joyfully:

Thy will be done, O Lord! Thy will be done!!!

We, at do cause for "Point" and "Counterpoint" discussions at our web site.  This is sometimes the same way in which authors and writers do in order to bring about both sides or arguments in discussions or about some issues affecting the Church as a whole.  Abbot +Gregori and our Metropolitan Archbishop do this from time to time.  Many have a limited understanding of what celibacy means and we can only ask: What part of CELIBACY does one not understand?

However, it has come to our attention that un-named individual(s) think it wise and not harmful to start attacking by taking copyrighted materials to use in their own web site without permission, per se: as for an example, the subjects pertaining to "Homosexuals" and "Homosexuality in the Church," etc. for the purpose of advancing their own causes to start their attacking of other(s) which is not bound in and with the Church, but with a personal agenda of self-image because of anger, hate, fear and worse.  They are Roman in attitude and practice, but not Orthodox, although calling themselves "Orthodox" even "Celtic".

It is understood, according to information and belief, that three of his/her/their websites may have been closed by former service providers due to complaints against him/them for internet terrorism, spewing "hate" and causing for an individual whom he/they discuss, to be exposed to potential physical harm which happened in the early part of the 2005 when they thought themselves wise in their own conceit, for things of more than 13 years in the past.  What part of "Hate" - "Exposing another to threats of losing life" - "Internet Terrorism" does he/they not understand? Now, under other domain names, the same/similar hate messages re-occur against the same individual.

We find them to be un-orthodox and un-Christian in spirit and truth for they continue to argue things of the past that is not a part of the Life and Teachings of Jesus Christ, and (in fact) go against the very commandments of Jesus Christ!  And those who do such are, it is opined upon investigation and in most instances, the very one(s) who had been or are under ban as excommunicated individuals posing as duly ordained clergy who had been a part of this jurisdiction (and so many numerous others) in times past.'s NOTE:  A few have sent us inquiries as to why we post information and/or articles relating to what might be considered as political and sometimes from other Protestants .  And the reply is much the same as it states on the entry page....  We Are:

Traditional Orthodox Jurisdictions

While the answer and question above is not sufficient for some to understand, we take the view (which we believe is ORTHODOX) that all things pertinent to life and living affects, and has an effect, upon not just our belief (Orthodox), but (for many) the way in which we act in accordance with our belief, our very faith.

Because this is a highly Protestant Country in which we live, having an effect upon the laws of the land, we should know something of what is on-going and where efforts by those denominations may affect and have a intrinsic effect on our very laws, for such does have an effect upon our daily lives as Orthodox Catholic Christians.

If one is not cognizant of the real events happening both locally and in the world, although many are removed from the world... one will not know what to expect or what to do, or how one can or cannot act which might betray one's faith and accrue the wrath of civil authorities as laws change.  Yet, we are also reminded that these things must happen and it was for that which there exists many early Christian Martyrs and Saints.

While we can remove ourselves from the world, we still live in it.  And for the faithful, theirs is a struggle for knowledge and understanding.  All things are pertinent to the Orthodox Catholic Christian Faith which is the very foundation of Christianity.  As such, we can not abandon them and leave them blind to events and happenings.

What we post as related to those things similar to various articles which might have a political theme or non-Orthodox Catholic Christian content of sorts ... does not mean or imply that we are supportive of, for, or against something articulated in an article, so much as it is NEWS and our faithful should be made aware, for such may be the very thing that will impact their day-to-day life.  It is for them, their free will... to judge the relevancy.

Remember, not all Protestants, especially hard core cultic groups such as "Charismatic" - "Evangelical" "Promise Keepers" "Church of Christ" "Methodism" "Pentecostals" "Jehovah's Witnesses" "Mormons" and other people are not so generous in their viciousness toward anyone and anything that appears "Catholic" whether of the Roman or Orthodox jurisdictions, for they do not know or want to learn that which makes them "different" in their walk and talk as being far from the roots of Christianity.

Remember, it is the Roman jurisdiction of the Catholic Church which has more outwardly shown that it can be one of the most vicious toward those who are not Roman but are very much "Catholic" - for the sun and moon does not rise and set on the Vatican (Latin or Roman) jurisdiction as to who is or is not "Catholic" for the Roman jurisdiction split (schismed) from the roots of "Catholicism" which is founded in what is termed and called today as "Orthodoxy".

Any good article or piece of information will be considered so long as it is not defamatory or slanderous toward an individual when not based on TRUTH or FACT, or which is altered out of context from its original publishing by recognized sources.

Yes, our Metropolitan Archbishop, +Joseph Thaddeus, SSJt., Ph.D. strongly defends the Seals of the Confessional for such leads to true Repentance in thought, word and deed whereby the penitent is required to make amends, where possible, to seek forgiveness of those harmed by his actions whether real or imagined, and to give his forgiveness to those who have harmed him before taking the Holy Body and Blood in the Eucharist, Jesus the Christ.  The reality of this understanding is bound up in and with the findings for which cause he, himself, had been character assassinated by his detractors who claim the courts prevented him from breaking the Seals of the Confessional which is not the truth at all.... Click here to see what another bishop's findings are...

The workings of Holy Spirit will not be daunted by those who attempt to cause disruption!  It is for these and other reasons that you are urged to read what true repentance and forgiveness means for real "Christians".

"It would be better to have ten (10) true repentant X-felons who ask for and give true forgiveness than it would be to have one (1) non-x-felon or common person whose self-righteousness exceeds even the Pharisees, Sadducees, the gossip mongers, slanderers and un-repentant; for the repentant x-felon understands the true meaning of the Church's purpose as being the spiritual hospital."
