A Call to become A Soldier in Christ, Jesus

Not for the faint hearted, the spiritually weak, or those of the soft life!

In 1978, 1979 and 1980, Archbishops Jerome Joachim and David Luther began a bold move in forming what became the Western Orthodox Church of America out of Altoona, Pennsylvania.  Since the repose of Archbishops +Joachim and +Luther, there have arisen many "Western Orthodox" churches, all doing things according to their abilities as though they were the legitimate successor, even though they may have a link to those times of the past and have honorable intentions in spirit and truth. 

While Archbishop Joachim resided in San Francisco, California and Archbishop Luther resided in Altoona, Pennsylvania the endeavors to meet the needs of men who wanted to become ordained to the priesthood took on the appearance of a great army of Christ movement never before seen in Catholic Christian history been in the United States of America and Canada. 

 In tandem with Archbishop Joachim and then Rev. Father Joseph Thaddeus, Archbishop Luther had begun to change the way the Western Orthodox Theological Seminary would train men.  Rev. Father Joseph Thaddeus was one who worked directly with both men without being, necessarily, a part of their main body during and after he (Thaddeus) was consecrated "Bishop" in the Catholic Christian Church which was taken under the wing of the AMERICAN ORTHODOX CHURCH.  He continued in dialogue and work with these men in their endeavors from the background, so-to-speak, and as their personal friends and mentor in formulating their goal which became the predecessor of St. John Chrysostom University.

Taking courses by mail was a viable way to train and teach.  It worked!  The Western Orthodox Church and the American Orthodox Church grew with new warriors of Christ who were trained and formed their own parishes and communities. 

Archbishops +Joachim and +Luther are no longer with us in this life, but their work continues in smaller ways. 

Some of those men who were under the now reposed Archbishops +Joachim and +Luther have not only become a part of this jurisdiction, but of other jurisdictions or have allowed their status in other jurisdictions to lapse by the wayside.  Some have become members of small monastic communities while others have active ministries of their own without belonging to any jurisdiction.

You are invited to join with us to either begin your training or furthering your training if you:

• Are attached to a jurisdiction but feel disenfranchised because of time, distance or changes in the world that has caused the jurisdiction you belong to, to take a path not necessarily of your own desire, but want to participate in and with a jurisdiction that listens and encourages active involvement regardless of where you reside.

• Are not clergy but want to become involved and trained for the priesthood or monastic life.

• Have had civil or criminal problem of any kind or nature in your life and find that they have been used against you in a way to prevent you from seeking a life in Jesus Christ as a clergy member or continuing in a Life in Christ because you were faced with such problems of the past. Remember, the Church is a spiritual hospital for all people, even clergy too.

You are invited to join with us in training or furthering your training if you:

• Are not afraid to work with ex-convicts and those who have had trouble in their past.

• Are not afraid to work with HIV/AIDS patients.

• Are not afraid to work with the homeless.

• Are not afraid to work with prisoners.

• Are not afraid to work with the elderly.

• Are not afraid to be involved in studying or continuing with studies to pursue knowledge and gain information to aide and assist you in your hoped for ministry.

• Are not afraid to admit that Synchrestic Ecumenism is a false path of many of the so-called churches in these present times, being that which was prophesied in the Holy Bible and by many Saints of the past and present times to be wary of.

• Are not afraid to admit that the One World Church, the World Council of Churches and the World Council of Bishops are entities which are leading the world and their congregations along the lines prophesied about what will lead to spiritual destruction and the One World Government.

• Are not afraid to admit that there is too much of an “entertainment mentality” involved in the Churches.

• Are not afraid to admit that the ancient and time honored ways of belief, practice and worship is the true way and the only way to prepare in this life for the life to come.

• Are not afraid to admit that the Holy Spirit inspired ancient Seven Ecumenical Councils is the administrative structures that must be adhered to in both faith and practice.  (For those who are unaware of those ancient councils, much is provided at this web site concerning them.  The various documents and information from those councils were written in a “do not” fashion of approach which leave open many ways in which to conduct the affairs of the church).

• Are not afraid to admit that the Seals of the Confessional is a pillar of the Church which must be adhered to by all clergy of every degree.

You may wish to follow through on these many things from the privacy of your home or become a part of the monastic life with us which is not for the faint hearted whatsoever.  It is truly a material and spiritual struggle out of pain of heart for the Faith once and for all delivered by the Apostles and Patristic Fathers...
