Orthodox Church Begun in Deming
The American Orthodox Church (American Orthodox Catholic Church) originally based in California has established its Non-Profit existence in Deming under the aegis of the NORTH AMERICAN ORTHODOX CHURCH (American Orthodox Catholic Church), creating a National Headquarters for its numerous parishes in the United States and Canada.
Its National Headquarters will be opening in Deming, New Mexico, in the not to distant future.
The American Orthodox Church (American Orthodox Catholic Church) is not a new church but came into existence in California in 1971-1972 as a result of Russian and Ukrainian Orthodox prelates. The American Orthodox Church of Toledo, Ohio has, in 2002-2003, become an independent church and no longer has any standing or affiliation with its former parent Church, the true National Headquarters of the AMERICAN ORTHODOX CHURCH (NORTH AMERICAN ORTHODOX CHURCH) both being the American Orthodox Catholic Church.
The true AMERICAN ORTHODOX CHURCH, following the Life and Teachings of Jesus Christ, the ancient epitome of the Canons allows for no room in creating inter-church politics but practices a faith that cannot be learned by books and other academics. It must be a learning from not only the Life and Teachings of Jesus Christ and the Holy Apostles and patristic fathers, but includes one's own life experiences and understandings that bears witness to the Holy Spirit and brings about spiritual dimensions within each individual. Orthodoxy is about one's spirituality and that can only be gained by divesting one's self of all man-made political machinations to make themselves something they are not whether they be parishioners or clergy. This is what the National Headquarters of the AMERICAN ORTHODOX CHURCH (NORTH AMERICAN ORTHODOX CHURCH) and all its members are all about. We are about Orthodox spirituality, not man-made politics for self-image and ego!
“We are not a church that follows a financial flow chart mentality as some do in these times of economic upheaval,” said Archbishop Thaddeus. He further stated that they are looking for property to establish a monastic community in Luna County for aging monks who come from other parts of North America wishing to continue their monastic life and by developing a seminary in the area.
In the spirit of Christian cooperation, the AMERICAN ORTHODOX CHURCH (NORTH AMERICAN ORTHODOX CHURCH) National Headquarters will develop and provide various services to the people of Luna County as time allows.
