Facing The Decline of Western Civilization

One of the foremost and surest signs that a society or a nation is in the final stages of decline, is when homosexuality becomes a norm and an accepted life-style. This is not just some fundamentalist religious prattle, but a historical FACT. The Roman Empire is a perfect example of this, and many other ancient empires were weakened and conquered after they had become morally lax and homosexuality became rampant, was one of these.

Today, the issue of same-sex marriages threatens not only the definition, sanctity and foundation of marriage as it has been celebrated, revered and recognized by all cultures since time immemorial. This is also a threat to the future of marriage as a basic social institution, along with the importance for society of the irreplaceable role of a husband and wife in conceiving and raising children. The union through the institution of marriage of one man and one woman is a guarantee of stability within the family, and a continuity between the generations, with the parental models being a father and a mother, not Timmy with two daddies or Sally with two mommies. To threaten and redefine the meaning of the union of marriage and the definition of the family will have a long lasting and devastating effect, not only on the individual families, but on society in general. This devastation will not only effect our country, but every one of the Western so-called Democratic countries in Europe who are pushing for the legalization of same-sex marriage, thus forcing the decline and destruction of Western Civilization.

The redefinition proposed by the liberal, morally bankrupt elements in western society, will do NOTHING to enhance nor promote the “sanctity” of marriage, rather it will break forever the tradition that marriage has held with human history as well as the very meaning and nature of marriage, turning it into a sham marriage, and no matter how society, the legal system or anyone else tries to glorify it, two people of the same sex will never be married in the eyes of God.

Marriage is and must remain the exclusive lifelong covenant of the love of a man and a woman to the exclusion of all others. This traditional concept of marriage, adheres to the natural law, which is the capacity to beget new lives, which has as its purposes the couple's well-being as well as the procreation and education of children. This traditional marriage relationship not only satisfies the needs of individuals, but also promotes the common good, thus it is worthy of and should have the protections under the law of the State and National governments. The governments of the world have the responsibility to favor and encourage this type of union, since marriage between a man and a woman ensures the future of society and constitutes the ideal environment for the development of children.

Contrary to the pap that the Liberals and their cronies on the Supreme Court try to shove down our collective throats, the traditional definition of marriage, as a union between a man and a woman, to the exclusion of all others, does not violate the equality rights of the minority who have homosexual tendencies. Nor does it lessen their dignity as a human being. No one can really deny the fact that same-sex partners can really love each other and have a heart-felt desire to share their lives together, but one must, in an educated and honest way, compare heterosexual and homosexual unions to make an honest determination as to whether they are perfectly identical or whether they present characteristics which justify different treatment and different definitions. If one were to reduce marriage merely to a relationship of sexual intimacy between consenting adults, then we would have no real legal ground to forbid same-sex marriage, but as I have already stated above, marriage is so much more than that. It is not just merely a relationship of sexual interdependence between consenting adults, but it contains the procreative potential of the male and female who are entering into a commitment, therefore, the sexual acts between two men or two women do not have the same equivalence as the sexual intimacy between a man and woman since same-sex partners do not have the biological where-with-all to produce new lives. It must also be kept in mind, regarding the education of children the same values cannot be attributed, with any sense of reasonableness, to both types of unions. The fundamental right of all children is to be born of an act of love and to live in complete communion and harmony with a father and a mother. Thus, anyone using common sense can very clearly see that there is no injustice or discrimination when it comes to treating these two situations, which are so drastically different both in the anatomical and psychological realms. On the other hand, it would be an act of injustice and discrimination toward the heterosexual married couples to denigrate the long held traditional view of marriage. “The State must accord special treatment to a man and woman who marry, not because of the exclusivity, dependence, duration or sexual nature of their union, but because of its vital function of procreation and its function of socialization that encourages complementarities between man and woman for the greater good of their children.” (A quote from Saving Marriage As A Fundamental Institution).

The act of excluding gay and lesbian couples from the union of marriage, is NOT because they are homosexuals but because of the lack of a sexual compatibility that defines the specific reason for marriage. Same-sex couples lack the physical ability to procreate and therefore they are less capable to educate the next generation which is a factor in determining the criteria of public interest.

Therefore, for a government to affirm that there are differences between heterosexual and homosexual unions, is not being unjust or discriminatory, against same-sex couples. Even the United Nations Commission on Human Rights, stated in 2002, “That banning discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation did not imply a right to marriage between same-sex couples” The Court of Appeals made the determination that “not all differences in treatment between heterosexual couples and homosexual couples is discriminatory.

What kind of effect will all of this have on society if marriage and the family are allowed to be re-defined?

The answer to this question is hard to know, but it is a certainty that it will be catastrophic. For one thing we must take into consideration the impact that such a redefinition would have on the most vulnerable among us, our children. It would be a crime to dismiss out-of-hand, the rights and needs of the children because we think that we would be creating some sort of utopian society through drastic social engineering, and the children would be free from any repercussions that may arise. This would be a false assumption, just take a long hard look at what harm no-fault divorce has done to our children. It is a known fact that children need both a father and a mother and they also have a fundamental right to know who their biological parents are and to be educated by them. We have seen the problems that have been caused by so many children coming out of divorced families, who have been deprived of this basic right. The divorce rate was bad enough, but the implementation of NO FAULT DIVORCE has led to the increase of the divorce rate, so why should we go out of our way to create a situation in the world that would be contrary to the well being of our children who need the double figure of a man and a woman, who represent for them the different, complementary roles that are crucial for their growth process and the structuring of
the child’s developing personalities?

In effect, society would be creating two different classes of children, those who would have the right to be educated by their two biological parents and those who would be voluntarily deprived of this right. Such discrimination is neither just nor desirable under any circumstances. Society must do everything in its power to ensure that children have a father and a mother who live together in a relationship marked by stability and love. The Spanish Association of Pediatrics has recently affirmed "a family nucleus with two fathers or two mothers is clearly dangerous for the child". Furthermore, the educational impact of laws on attitudes is undeniable. If laws of society must teach that marriage is the union of two persons, a majority of Society will face the risk of a serious threat to their freedom of conscience, religion and expression through the imposition of an "orthodoxy" that is contrary to their values. It is a well known fact that those who are in disagreement with the idea of same-sex marriage are slapped with the label of homophobia:. We must then ask ourselves this following question: : "Is the introduction of homosexual unions ultimately to mean that there is no right to freedom of conscience on the matter of homosexual acts and that conscientious objectors are to be made outcasts?”

So far, I have spoken of the harm to society by legalizing same-sex unions, in a purely secular way, but there is a far greater danger to our souls, if those of us who call our selves Christians, do not stand up and fight this evil. Oh yes, I am well aware of the fact that there are those who feel that true Christians should never get involved in anything political, because the Lord says that we should be in the world, but not of the world, but common sense tells us that there are some things in the world that impact our lives as Christians and that there is such a thing as “sins of omission” whereby we are guilty of a sin if we fail to do or say something against it.. When it comes to abortion, if we do not speak out against it, if we remain silent and do not make it known that abortion is evil and a sin, then we are just as guilty and accountable for the lost lives as are those who have, perform or advocate for abortion. This is just as true when it comes to same-sex marriage and unions, if we who call ourselves Christians, do not speak out and fight against it, we are guilty in the eyes of God, for supporting that which is wrong.

Let us take a moment to read what St. Paul had to say in his Epistle to the Romans:

18 “For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and un-righteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;

19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shown it unto to them.

20 For the invisible things of Him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and God-head; so that they are without excuse.

21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was dark;

22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools.

23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.

24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their heats, to dishonor their own bodies between themselves:

25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.

26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:

27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind*, to do those things which are not convenient:

(* A rebrobate mind is a mind that is not capable of decerning what good and evil or of even thinking in its own best interest.)

29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, they are gossips

30 Backbiters (slanderers), haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,

31 foolish, faithless, heartless, ruthless, (in other versions: Without understanding, covenant breakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful;)

32 Who knowing the judgement of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them".

(Epistle of Paul the Apostle to the Romans 1:18-32)

How much plainer can it be made that God considers homosexuality to be a very grave sin? Theses are not my words, but the words of St. Paul the Apostle. And, by remaining silent on the subject, are we not showing that we are taking pleasure in those who do such acts? Once again, let me stress that ALL people have the right to be treated with dignity, since they are members of the human race, and Jesus did teach that we are to love the sinner but hate the sin, but if we remain silent in the face of sin because we don’t want to offend the sinner, if we remain silent in the face of sin, because we are being Christian by not getting involved in the things of the world, then in essence, we have given our approval to the sins being committed and we have become partakers thereof..

We also have the obligation to speak out when others try to distort the words of Holy Scripture in an attempt to make them appear to fit their own perverted and sinful natures. Will you remain silent while Western Civilizations collapses? Will you remain silent while those of evil intent continue to pervert the minds of our children and rob them of their God-given right to have a Father and a Mother? If so, how will you answer to the Lord for your actions or lack there of?

The following Commentary is sent to us from a viewer of internet postings: What Abbot +Gregori says is, for the most part, true indeed. But let us also be very careful in understanding this part of scripture too.... For many have used this and other portions of Holy Writ to demonize people of race, color and in these present times (as has happened in the past), demonize those of persuasion.

We have intentionally and purposefully highlighted and underscored a portion of the above sentence "when others try to distort the words of Holy Scripture in an attempt to make them appear to fit their own perverted and sinful natures".

The first statement made is only partially true.... "when homosexuality becomes a norm and an accepted life-style"... To understand this... realize that "homosexuality" is of itself, for some men and some women, their NATURAL part from the time of birth to old age and death, this is a scientifically proven fact. It is not something necessarily acquired over the development of the individual, so much as an integral part of the individual at birth, a part of their whole being. Does the particular statement itself therefore mean that when an individual is found to be homosexual that they should be subjected to the old ways of shock-therapy or being injected with experimental drugs or being murdered? Some would say YES! Others who have an understanding of God's creation, would - for good reason - say NO!

The statement made of, "...the issue of same-sex marriages threatens not only the definition, sanctity and foundation of marriage as it has been celebrated, revered and recognized by all cultures since time immemorial. This is also a threat to the future of marriage as a basic social institution, along with the importance for society of the irreplaceable role of a husband and wife in conceiving and raising children." is a true statement of biblical fact! However, one best understand that the very words "basic social institution" can be and has been sometimes been overly used to constitute Caesar (Government) as the defining agency of man as to what constitutes the 'social institution" or "society". The Church does define the institution of marriage as between a man and a woman exclusively.

It is a known fact of science that a homosexual union wherein two of the same gender parents, raising a child, has had little negative impact on the child but actually re-inforced the child's development toward and for heterosexual norms. Odd, it would seem to appear. But, the facts would seem to indicate that the sexual 'norm' of a child is firmly fixed from the cradle to the grave and interrupted only when such is done by physical force which disrupts the psychological processes of the child.

The whole idea of "Marriage" for homosexuals was initially intended to provide the same benefits and rights as allowed for heterosexual couples. Thus there should be a better way in which those of the same sex could obtain a sanction for their relationship which does not destroy the time honored idea of what "Marriage" constitutes for heterosexuals. This is actually the bottom line.

While the church has never encouraged homosexuality and homosexual unions, it has become an issue that needs to be addressed without disrupting the sanctity and viability of "Marriage". The truth of the matter is that this is a political issue and not a religious issue, yet Caesar should not encroach upon or establish laws that violates or destroys the relationship between God and Man which the Church upholds. This is what destroys a nation that was founded upon the relationship of God and Man, which is a the decline of a civilization.
